Oh man those chibi are all adorable your art style is so gorgeous, I love your use of colour and the way you do shade and lighting, it meshes really well <3

No harm in entering even if you don't think you'd come up with anything super unique, I just really enjoy quirky characters and the design seems like it needs a quirky personality lol. And I hope you're feeling better now, guess we were both under the weather lately ^^'

Blue and orange is one of my favourite colour combos, and her pattern reminds me of raindrops falling on the water's surface. Can't wait to get my new laptop, sooo many art ideas ^^

@The Royal Mirage Ah im glad you like her ;v;/ i had lots of fun designing her~ And in response to your comment on the grem gazette thing- I was thinking of doing the prompt on wednesdays and then that saturday/sunday so i have some time between then, I was thinking of starting it just doing it myself- but if it catches on I'd probably invite others to write for it and stuff! I'll probably think more into it after the summer event since thats kinda coNSuming my time right now lol
The new grem is super lovely too! I'm tempted to try out but i better not haha

@ Sock. Good luck with relationships! I'd send a message but the only grem I have fully developted atm is Keto and nobody wants to be that losers friend lOL anyway, he's on a spaceship so not in a good place to make friends

Man Sixbane, you're dealing with so much xD I'm so impressed with you, you're doing practically everything for the summer event, and still thinking up new stuff for Songrems - it's either total dedication, or madness that fuels you!

Congrats on the new germ! Sorci is so cute, I love that little nomming pixel (it's so teeny and sweet!), and the bigger picture you did conveys so much personality! I feel like I can feel her feels just looking at it <3 And gosh that art of Keto is adorable! I've really gotta get my butt in gear and get some art of my own germs too P:

Hello everyone! I'm mostly a lurker and haven't participated in the community aspect of Songrems (I don't really know what to talk about or how to add to the conversation ^^;), but I love the species and concept as a whole and all the awesome designs and events are so fun to witness! (Speaking of which, props to you Sixbane for somehow keeping track of all that's going on for this awesome summer event, I don't know how you manage to stay sane with it all @_@)


The main reason that I'm here is that I missed posting in time for the Day 8 summer prompt. ;u; That's what I get for waiting until the last minute! I figured I might as well post the art I made here since it's just gonna collect dust in my folders otherwise.

Pardon the very poorly done fireworks and simple background, I have no idea how to properly do either of those things so I made do with what I could figure out (plus I was rushing). I also couldn't figure out how to get that sorta soft haze/glow-like effect that makes up the majority of my grem's markings so the final result is a lot sharper (? is that the word to describe this?) than what I wanted it to be too. (I don't digital art much. I only have, like, two other digital pieces to my name ;u;)

So the prompt was:
"It seems the songrems are working on a festival! A special event held every year. Too bad for the park owner they've decided that the waterpark is the perfect place for it....What about the festival is your songrem looking forward to?"

I decided to draw my songrem Basir watching fireworks.

@Wolf Shadowstalker - What a lovely piece of Basir! I really like how you did his glowy markings, it looks very crisp against the black background <3 I'm more of a lurker around here as well, you're not alone!

@Neah Walker - Congrats on the GA position, your first design is so neat! I love the edits you did, and how the tail sort of echoes the hair in its swoopiness ^^

And my stubbornness to use any number other than 64 in the slide counter game has paid off, with a lovely new grem to add to my growing family - Corentine!

(I think she's actually a very unlucky lady, always tripping over herself and getting caught in unexpected thundershowers *not to mention getting stuck in slides*. Poor dear!)
.. pretty sure I never announced my raffle win here either, now that I think about it. Here's a delayed intro to my other summer child, Dana!


Now the ladies in my family outnumber the boys 3-2, I don't think Rasui minds too much though ^^

@The Royal Mirage (older post) Probably madness tbh, im managing like two events and my personal nursery and art fights in a week and my life is a meSS RIGHT Now lOl

I dont have a lot to share cause I haven't had much time for drawing, im worn out, me and my gf have made so many grems for the event and those are only the ones who actually have owners/are up for adopt, I made over 50 in advance OTL but some I have to make on the spot

I'm also working on songrem #100! Its sooner than you think lol so I got a head start

I have been thinking more on some other ideas for songrems to try considering implementing later, as I want to keep up ways to involve the community and keep things interesting!
So I wanted to hear if anyone had any opinions on them at all or suggestions of other things that might be fun
-ARPG elements? Experience/ upgrades based on that
-Still thinking on the 'grem gazette' weekly newsletter thing
-companion species?
-permanent shop/currency where items can be bought (perhaps weekly stock on certain ones) currency earned through prompts, mini-events and you could cash in HM's?
-Could also cash in unwanted songrems for currency, and they'll be put up for readoption?
