Sooo my night of seeing Twenty One Pilots didn't end up as I would've hoped. :c
I got at the music festival really early and stood in the crowd all day so I'd eventually get closer to the stage. I managed to see The Neighbourhood, Of Monsters and Men, X Ambassadors, etc, all fairly well. As soon as Twenty One Pilots came on, I was right up at the stage. They played Heavydirtysoul, and then I got to watch them perform Stressed Out.
After that, all I remember is being set on the ground by a bunch of medics because I had passed out from not eating all day. :'D So I had to go home, and missed 90% of their performance. I was pretty crushed, but I'm still glad I got to go see them on October 8th, so at least I've experienced a concert by them before? They're coming back next July, so hopefully I'll get to see them then ; v; <3
So yeah, that's why I have no pictures for you guys D: </3

i started listening to them a little while back- before blurry face came out.
i'm actually a bit excited because they're going to be in connecticut, and i live in one of the neighboring states. i really hope i can find someone to go with me + get a ticket with good seats before they're sold out

anyways, i'm kind of curious to what you guy's favorite lyrics are. i'm pretty sure mine have to be;; "i won't fall in love with falling" aghgghh h that verse is just so meaningful to me. i read something somewhere where it said that he’s trying to keep his pride, trying not to fall head over heels for some ridiculous reason that possibly won’t end up being worth it. but i personally feel like i can relate to it because i feel as if he's saying he doesn’t want to fall in love just for the feeling of falling in love. and i've come to realize that this has happened to me quite a few times. i was never inlove with a certain person, i was just inlove with the feelings they'd give me- because i craved affection

wow, that's really deep. like I can't help but read that over and over.
like, I listen to twenty one pilots but I never really listened, you know? and now that you've brought this up I want to find out what other lyrics mean. I have happened to remember looking up the meaning of the lyrics to trapdoor and they are really depressing but also kind of relateable, specifically the first verse.

Personally, my favorite lyric (right now, it changes a lot) is from kitchen sink. Wow, that makes me sound a bit like a fake fan, doesn't it? I really love the line, "Nobody thinks what you think- no one. Empathy might be on the brink of extinction." I feel like so often people try to shrink you, you know? I deal with a wide range of complex mental health issues, one of them being CPTSD. And when I trust someone enough to tell them about that, I instantly feel like I'm shoved in a box. I'm no longer someone who can think a wide range of thoughts- the instant someone knows, I get put in this box labeled broken, and suddenly it's like that's all there is to me. When, in reality, nobody else thinks what I think, or thinks it the way I do. And the part about empathy becoming extinct is so true. Often times you get told, "Oh, I know how that feels. I know what that's like. I understand," when, in reality, they have no clue. I dunno, I just love it.

i'm not sure, but i think the title trapdoor is supposed to represent how he feels? like he's trapped inside an emotion, depression, loneliness

the song is honestly lovely. it has a very nice beat to it, and i wish it would be recognized just a bit more.
as for the message behind the song, i'd say its about trying to cover up depression by saying that you're "okay" or "fine" when people are around you. but then as soon as no one is around, everything isn't okay or fine.

honestly, to me atleast, the only fake fan i'd see is someone who only knows car radio, or stressed out or something, and calls themselves a fan. not that i have anything against those being favorite songs. i really like car radio, but stressed out is just ehhh, not my favorite song they've come out with. i don't think you're a fake fan for the kitchen sink thing at all.

but since i'm now on the topic of fake fans, i might as well mention a few things.
