Advertisement time, guys.
I'm working a new rp that has three spots [all male] left, and I'd like to fill them all today if I can. The gist of it is this: the king has been murdered and everyone's in a daze pointing fingers and trying to figure out who's behind it [the real culprit is pretty obvious if you've ever read any stories, ever, but it's more about the characters and relationships than the mystery].
Please consider this only if you know you'll be able to be relatively active [as in you can make a couple 200+ word posts a week] and are good at sticking with roleplays for a good while. Currently, the positions left are the guard, the pirate, and the prince. I have the bios for all but the last one up already and I'll let you know when the prince is done if he isn't taken by that time. PM me if you're interested or reply on this thread, either way works.

I so badly want some help developing an idea. I want an RP/something to write about that's based heavily on The Golden Compass. {Maybe not so heavily}

I really want a character who has a second part of them that can't leave them without pain.. And I also love, love, loved the idea of them "settling" as they got older into a "preview" of someone's personality. However, I don't think that when they die I want the character to die as well.

I was thinking maybe something like the second part is based on emotion? Perhaps they never settle and instead gradually change as the human's emotions change. Of course, I'd extend The Golden Compass and make the second half able to turn into humans they've spent enough time around. {ex. this would only happen with someone's best friend/boss/co-worker, etc.}

Preferred "forms" for every emotion, though they'd be cliche emotions; anger, happiness, sorrow, etc.

Anyone wanna work out some knots with me or have any interest? I have no plot.. q.q

This idea sounds very interesting! I don't know much about the Golden Compass, sadly, as I've only seen the movie and that was even a long time ago. Nevertheless, I'm still interested.

It would be cool if the second part was based on emotion and never really settled into one form, but eventually settled into one set form for each strong emotion, and into another for neutrality or when the emotion is less intense. Or maybe they could change into something like a chimera, a mix of creatures? I don't really know, just spitballing. tbh my idea sounds kind of dumb, oops.

But if you can't find a plot, the old "someone is trying to hurt me/a group and I/we need to find a way to stop them," or a common good vs. evil or gang war type of thing, like there are two different sides fighting, neither are wholly good or bad.

I really really like the idea of settling each emotion a lot! Some fantasy creatures would be neat. Maybe the fact that our characters would have fantastical forms is what gets them singled out?

I like the idea of being hunted too!

I was definitely imagining a more medieval era when envisioning this. Do you think premades would be a good idea? As far as who gets what forms, where theyre from, etc?Or should I just say no duplicates of forms and let everyone go nuts.

If they were being hunted, having fantasy creatures or creatures with mutations would definitely be a good reason for why. (Possibly for bounty or maybe crazed scientists wanting to figure out why that is? I don't know, it's your role-play, so haha.)

Medieval-like settings are definitely the way to go. Those and more futuristic/sci-fi settings are usually the best for these kinds of role-plays, to be completely honest. Plus, medieval is usually pretty cool, however getting pictures that match that time period can be difficult. In all honesty, it depends on the people. Some like premades and some don't. It's usually easier for the role-play to go how you want with premade characters, though, to be completely honest, and it might be easier for people to make the character/put information in it if they know how it's supposed to be in the long run.

Thanks to Hannibal, I now have a decent idea of what I'll be making!

Long ago people used to roam the earth with small, semi-transparent wisps following their every move. These little wisps soon developed shape that translated into the feelings everyone was having. They took form of the animal life forms around the people, some even had animal forms their humans had never meet, only seen in drawings or pictures. Now though, six individuals within the kingdom of Zytherin have been known to have.. fantastical partners. The King and Queen exiled these six at once, sending them to certain doom. Rumors have spread about the six the King and Queen exiled for they only have one fantastic form that's only apparent when they're in a certain mood. Bounties have sprung up in the Kingdom and many have begun to travel the world in search of these six who were all thrown at each other.

Struggles within each other cause the six to have frequent headaches. If that wasn't enough they have to worry about hunters and the wilds themselves. Will you survive?

There are, obviously, six characters that will be available. Three males and three females. Most forms will be picked by you out of a few ideas I had that fit the characters { these are all debatable; feel free to PM me about animal choice }. I threw in a cute lgbt couple cause I imagined them being adorable all afraid to flirt with each other. I especially LOVE the vixen..

I was originally going to steal the street rat (which is literally why he only has one choice on everything) but ended up deciding that I'll just take the last open character, I love them all.
