I didn't think you or any other here had any such negative intentions. Since I couldn't easily pull or paste a reference I just felt I should try and show that I' not just pulling 'stuff' out the top of my hat swinging it about saying look at me, look at this.. I'm not about that, I generally prefer to listen and observe but I do like to share from my own research and experiences from time to time. I find that I often have to defend them and so on occasion jump the gun as it were. I do not easily become offended, nor have I been today. As stated it was my opinion and that is one thing I like about this thread in particular is our differing opinions within the same topic though we largely agree on fundamentals. I hope none were offended by me either that was truly not my intent, perhaps just poor emoting in my phrasing?

@Songa, is there anyplace where your niece and cat can't get to? Perhaps a plastic box with a snap down lid would work? And It might be simpler to just have candles and an incense holder in your room, somewhere out of the way, and then keep your tools tucked into a drawer or other place to keep them out of your niece's reach?

I haven't had an alter in a long time, mostly because I've been moving around a lot. When I find time to practice, I simply put out a couple of tea lights and perhaps something that I want as a focus before starting and that's it. I understand this may not work for everyone, but it might be a solution to your problem.

Also I've never tried incenses before.I'm a little worried to try them because I have allergies it's mostly seasonal allergies but smoke does bother me some.Are there incenses that are lighter on the smoke or any thing?

@Grengirl, I'm sorry I thought you might've interpreted what I wrote as being imperious. Sometimes I read into things. We are free to have adult conversations on faith and practices. As long as we are polite I don't think there should be a problem.

@Songa, I'm not sure. I've never had an issue as long as I had good air flow. Do scented candles cause problems for you? There are scented oil type brazers that when used correctly they don't created smoke but release a soft fragrance. I would suggest finding a person locally who might be able to help you find something that works for you if you are interested. Each person's space is their own and allergies can be tricky. So use caution and follow your heart.

Some scented candles cause me problems but not a lot.I look in to the oils then.Thank you.

So I have something mysterious that has been happening to my partner and I for a little while now, Quick recap he has an entity that's attached to him but we have no idea what it is. The thing that keeps happening is when we skype a rock love song that neither of us know of comes on and plays then stops randomly... It's just very strange and we're curious to figure it out. Input and opinions are greatly desired!

EDIT: We figured out the song but we've never heard of the band.

Hail and well met Vestra. Well your problem could be any number of things. If it's a benign or helpfully symbiotic entity then it could be something akin to a spirit guide or totem. If it's malevolent then I'd suggest speaking to someone locally and in person about the specifics. From what you've shared I cannot suggest anything beyond seeking face to face guidance with a reputable person in your area.

I haven't posted on here for a really long time... Sorry about that

Anyway, life has been super crazy for me lately and I'm starting to feel like I've lost my way. I hate the feeling. I want to get connected again, I just don't know how... I've never felt so lost in my life. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to reconnect? Any help would be much appreciated.


On another note, I've recently gained the ability to see auras and I've started seeing spirits a lot too. Not like full blown apparitions, but like shadows and stuff. It's scary, but cool at the same time and I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point. I just wanted to update and keep this poor thread alive.

I feel like I've become so disconnected with the way that I'm even questioning my faith
And I hate that feeling, I hate it so much...
I'm just so unsure about almost everything, yet something still tells me to hold on to what little bit I have left..

I wish I could see auras, I wish I could see spirits. I wish more than anything to have that ability, but I'm even questioning if it was actual spirits I used to communicate with or if it was just my mind all along...

I'm so depressed and I have no idea what to do, I just want to believe again...

I know its supposed to be almost summer but in my area it barely feels like spiring. The daytime high today was 6'C! That way too bloody cold for june first. So I get that is part of why many of us have been down. Normally my first suggestion would be to get outside feel the sun and wind. The grass under your feet. If thar doest quite work hit up some of the local second hand shops/donation centres for a little retail therapy. I did well this past weekend. I found many objects I had been looking for for a couple of years. Including a copper cauldron! and a truck load of new and unused candles. It made my spring so far as most of my plants didn't survive the extended icy winter. Only the weeds seemed to survive. Sigh. I had to resort to garbage bags and cut holes around the few plants that did survive.

Yup. I live not too far from you and it was the same way here. And I think you might be right about the weather. The next nice day I have to myself, I'm going to a park or something and taking something with me to offer any faeries that might be there. ^^
