"Thankfully I haven't yet been bashed for my 'unusual' tastes in music ; however, only my parents share my music tastes. All my friends are into pop or as I like to call it 'pop rock'. One time, me and a friend were in an art class where we got to request songs on Youtube. She asked me what I liked, so I said rock. I give an A+ for effort, but it was still 'lighter' than what I love. That and another new friend was showing me her IPod to see if I knew any of the songs. Quite a few I knew or heard part of somewhere, but none of them were songs I'd purposefully put on. ;) "

"On the subject of Avenged Sevenfold, I do love their music. Since it's one of my mother's favorite bands, I have plenty of their songs and I'd gladly listen to them. Certainly not my favorite ; Disturbed will always be my personal favorite. You saw people hating on Corey Taylor? *sighs* Pop punk lovers...I can guarantee you that's what the haters were, and I guarantee they like whiney rock too [my made-up genre for most of the bands I don't like]. I love both Stone Sour and Slipknot, and I'm actually going to one of the festivals that Slipknot headlines soon! I'm really excited to see them live, along with three other favorites in my family."

"Sorry orion, can't help with the death metal thing. I don't really listen to that stuff, as the heaviest I go is Chevelle and Slipknot."

"Apparently state fairs are a good place for t-shirts, Street Soldier. I was tempted by a few Disturbed t-shirts at my own state's fair. I wouldn't look at the library for rock albums ; closest I saw was Staind, which was literally the only thing I liked there. Maybe it's because all of the bands I really like have 'potty-mouths' so to speak? And if you're looking for a good song for head-banging fuel try Disturbed's 'Liberate' [warning ;; very explicit song, and please try not to blast it out your car windows as it comes on loud.] or 'Perfect Insanity'."

On another note; I've recently started to get into Death Metal. I used to "keep away" from that genre, but now I can't keep away anymore, and I've discovered that it is surprisingly good. I have no idea whereto start tho, because I need to find some bands to listen to. Right now I'm only listening to radio channels which sends death metal music, but I feel the need to have specific bands that Ilike, bbecause as it is now, I don't know any bands within that genre and that makes it hard for me to talk death metal with other people cx

I recommend Lamb of God and Behemoth (I can add links to videos when I return home this evening.) for death metal; they're some of my favorites. There are so many more (Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus) that I'll add once I see my list of music and remember, haha. I will point out one of the main defining elements of death metal are intense, gory, and often black-magic themed music. Many people often find Cannibal Corpse offensive, so I'm warning you now haha.

For many years, I really struggled with people hating on the music I liked. I went to Catholic school, and I'd really rather not go into details of their abuse. Youtube comments, online haters of all kinds, even just my friends in my area - they were all very hard on people who had different music taste. I am a Black Veil Brides fan, and essentially everyone knows that band it treated like a joke. I still love their music, but for the longest time I found it necessary to defend them every single time anyone tried to attack them. Eventually I learned the best solution - somebody else's negative opinion doesn't have to affect yours. Just because someone calls the band you love horrible, awful things and says they have no talent; it doesn't mean any of that is true, and you don't have to let it affect you. As long as you still like the band, it doesn't matter at all. Once I established that into my views, I'm pretty much invincible to the Youtube comments that plague every song I like with how terrible it is and how stupid everyone is that listens to it. At the end of the day, you still like that song, and you in no way have to agree with them. We have a right to love a band, and they have a right to hate. Agree to disagree and leave it at that, I guess?

Lately I've been mostly into Industrial music, and black metal. Cradle of Filth, Psyclon Nine, and even some Motionless in White songs have been filling my ears lately. (I'll add some links to recommend later.)

I take it by state you mean like United States states? I don't live in the States and the closest thing I could probably get to a state fair is either a car boot sale (which I can never get to in time) and the county show which only happens once a year. There's no second hand stalls or anything so no band t-shirts :c I did find a thing with loads of band merch (keyrings and t-shirts and the like) but I couldn't find any of the bands I liked at the time, and I can't really go back because it's a boat trip and a long car drive away and I don't have the money to pay for a boat fare, plus the fact I'm not old enough to get a driver's licence xD We might be going on holiday in the summer so I might be able to get my hands on some stuff then. My birthday's in a couple of months anyway, I can wait. c:

On another note, my guitar lessons have finally started again after an unexpected hiatus of a couple of months. I'm almost reluctant to go back since I want to learn a different style than what we're doing right now, I haven't touched my acoustic guitar since the lessons stopped. I've just been teaching myself stuff on my electric guitar from online tabs and Rocksmith and not really practiced the stuff we were doing. I'm also getting a drum lesson on Sunday with my mum's boyfriend's band's drummer :D

Also, has anyone else seen this? It's pretty cute c: This was a few years ago, I think the youngest are 11 or 12, but I might be wrong.

[list]["Yowch! Didn't consider that Smoothians live everywhere in the world and that there aren't state fairs elsewhere. Sorry, I've got nothing else. Did anyone else see the news on Slipknot? You know, the thing on the news all across the internet about their guitarist? One of my local radio station said Stone Sour is crazier than Slipknot ; the news makes me strongly disagree."/list]

Ah, it's fine c:

I'm a bit annoyed about how short my play history display on Blinkbox is. I was gonna favourite Psychosocial but the play history went over some limit thing so I couldn't favourite it xD

EDIT: Wow. Just found Carolus Rex by Sabaton through a guy on Twitch. Ooooooooo so gooood :DD

I beat GH: World Tour yesterday and unlocked some great songs :D My favourite would probably be B.Y.O.B by SoaD, but all the other songs I unlocked were Hot For Teacher by Van Halen, Re-Education Through Labour by Rise Against, Trapped Under Ice by Metallica, Scream Aim Fire by Bullet For My Valentine, something by Dream Theater and some other songs I can't remember the names of xD The only ones I'll probably touch are B.Y.O.B. and Trapped Under Ice, since I'm not a big fan of the other songs :P Hot For Teacher was hard. I barely completed it on medium...

Rocksmith is getting on my nerves a bit as well because I can apparently fail songs in practice mode. Darn you, Outshined. A good song, but Rocksmith made me ragequit xD
