I am seeing topics like above all over the Wiccan and Satanist Clubs. This makes me very sad for everyone who is in that position and I do hope you do not sway, as ~LunarWolf~ states above me. That is the big thing with some parents and relatives- they think it's a phase or a passing. It is not. Ours, like many others, is a belief system. ~LunarWolf~ describes a good compromise about going to church:

(Note: I have bolded what I am referencing)

~LunarWolf~ wrote:
What you need to do is not change. Let them know that no matter what, you are not going to budge on the issue. If they make you go to church with your grandmother, so be it. But do something that will make them regret it. I told my mom if she made me go to church with my grandmother again, that I would do it... but that I would be wearing my pentacle and would not partake in singing any hymns or doing any prayers. I haven't had to go to church with my grandmother in over a year.

I know some of us live in small towns and it is hard to escape "herd mentality" when it comes to religion. You are all very brave. <3

----

Going back to a previous topic, I didn't even know I could do something daily! I've been waiting for Esbats and Sabbats for working my magic or sending prayers, what have you. To do magic or prayers every day sounds so nice. n.n

(Uhh, about above... Did I dream that topic being discussed on here? I was so sure I recently read it here. :? If not, I guess that's that? xD )

Several different branches of paganism have daily things. In Reclaiming you are encouraged to make the mundane, magical. To see magic as part of the life all around us and to make ritual something exciting and celebratory of all the parts of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

I don't know if we still have to use the form but

Form of wicca? : Er well, i don't really fit into just one branch. I kind of dabble in all of it, because I'm just starting to get back into the practice. I am in the Laveyan branch of satanism however
Comments of any sort?: This is a great place yo!

Also to the people who's parents ttry to force them out of their practice, why not try to teach your parents about your practice?
I don't know if you've tried, but just a suggestion! And I dont know if they will work.

I have a friend who's mother made her burn her rune book and destroyed her altar, and my friend chewed her mom out, and now her mom doesn't mess with it. Not exactly recommended unless you know your parents really well though.

[EDIT]
Also since i'm just re-starting my whole practice thing, i tried gtting started years ago but depression hit, can anyone link me to some good site where I can learn about pretty much anything involving paganism? Or just spells and such? I have a few books on it, but one book is just not a good reference and it's just full of misinformation sadly :<

Yes there was a brief discussion on daily practice, I can't say I do much along the lines of that but I tend to think of magic along similar lines as is mentioned in reclaiming. Any mundane act or even reutine can have a magical component or outcome. Just on a routine walk or shopping trip you might find an item that you rhink might be worthy of your alter. (I prefer found objects, I like to think they found me whenever I go looking for something it is never to be found :( )

That said you can celebrate anything that fits into your personal beliefs like the Lunar phases or the partial solar eclipse that happened somewhere today. (Assuming I've missed it already) I might do something special when the apple blossoms start. (We have a local festival, but I have yet to attend and it has become more like a three day fairground thing with rides, parades, etc. Fun, but not within walking distance)

Lunar's idea of compromise is valid, but may not work for everyone. You each know your family best, some christian churches are more open than others at allowing you to explore other aspects of religion. Christianity and Wiccan do not necessarily clash with each other many of the base teachings are similar in nature. If the Family you are dealing with may be swayed by logical argent you may take and expand on that point. Perhaps with the aid of articles from Christian Wiccans.

Lastly the question about playing cards. While I have not intentionally used playing cards in such a manner, I wont go so far as to say one or more of my well used decks has not passed me a message. Though I have a harder time with interpreting from playing cards so avoid it. But many seem to have success with this, so long as the readings are not treated like a game as this is considered poor manners at best for any oracle item.

I think I've been blathering long enough, sorry for the long windedness.
Preparing to quit
I will try to check for messages occasionally before I do
but I might not be able to reply immediately.

Comments of any sort?: I love healing crystals more than anything else.

Edit:

I've had some internal qualms regarding the Goddess. I know many just refer to her as The Goddess, while others assign her a specific name. I felt I was being called to Persephone, but after I dedicated myself to Persephone... the Goddess become more of a character in a story and lost the role she played before in my life. I'm stuck between the Goddess of my religion, and the Goddess of mythos.

This made more sense in my head, trust me.

It makes sense dont worry. I can relate as Persephone is one of my goddesses, Artemis is my Patron Goddess though.

Postby RhythmicWolf » Tue May 06, 2014 2:43 pm

hello everyone!

I am not a member of this thread, but i have been becoming increasingly interested in the Wiccan religion. I've been researching where to start, and i usually find that choosing a form of Wicca is the first step. So i hope its alright if i come here and ask you experienced wiccans a question or two cx

Im curious, is there any form of Wicca that focuses more on crystal properties and magick? I am extremely interested in precious stones and their uses, and i have a small collection going on. If anybody could provide me some information or a link, that would be absolutely wonderful. Thank you all and have a fabulous day! c:

Hey, evangeline! When it comes to finding a path, its best to just do things your own way for a while. Then you can worry about official names once you're comfortable with yourself.
I consider myself a semi-intermediate-beginner on the book knowledge of crystals. I know from what I've read, but not from personal experience.
I like to get physical books but for an online source:
http://www.crystalvaults.com/crystal-en ... /carnelian
And my one all important tip is try to get as little "confusionite" as you can, unless you are prepared for unexpected energies and turmoil.

Edit.

The fantastic thing about Wicca is no one can tell you what to believe or how to practice, if you don't want them to. It's like like a buffet of magic and nature and lore. You may never find a Wiccan with a plate EXACTLY like your own.
