Depends on paint, if it's ghetto, it'll take trys.
I have paint that's ayrclic, so.

Do not use paint on the tail hair, especially acrylic. It will be clumpy and gross. The best bet you have is either dye, a marker (but that will wash out), or just ripping out the tail, using clay, and painting that.
