However, I have a theory;
With the protective boundaries gone, it's perfectly plausable that he could apparate out of danger. Which I prefer to believe. He was, by far, the smartest of the Snatchers, so likely the only one to think of that. To me, he escaped and joined the good side so he wouldn't have to go back to Azkaban. However, he found me and lives in my room. He will never escape!
