Let me know if your interested or have any questions and I will link you to my facebook page.

I'd be interested too, though i never used a harness on any rat o.O

Hey...
One of our rats is somewhat obese(no babies or tumors, she's just plain fat), and despite having switched their food a while ago to that oxbow stuff she hasn't been losing any weight.
We wanted to try walking her, but she refuses to put up with the harness and somehow keeps managing to slip out of it despite how chubby she is, and anything we can do to get her to climb more just seems to annoy or frighten her.
Any ideas?

Well.. I caved, and when my friend had 200+ rescue rats in, I did my best to help rehome them once they were fit for it, and said NO I WON'T get another one.. what do I do? Fall head over heels for one old man whom has affectionately been named Boscoe, though we all call him "Biggun"..

He's one of my dream rats. Simple, but a definite dream come true. Sure he's silvered and rusty, but he's just a pet anyway.

Meet my sweet man, Boscoe.

xoxo

He may need his teeth trimmed, has a small URI left but he's being treated and is on strict quarantine. If his teeth don't file down with wood chews, he'll have them properly taken care of. I think he just needs a wood chew or two.

I truly feel as if HE chose me and not me HIM. He plopped down into my arms, licked me and immediately bruxed/boggled.. how could I say no?! He's HUGE, too!

I got a question

What color is your rat/rats? Also what genetics does it have? (hairless dumbo ect)

I have a Hairless rat who I think is dumbo.A Dumbo Siamese with pink eyes I always have to explain how he is not albino he has points (he is so pretty <3) and I'm not sure the correct term for his color he is it's kinda a greyish black but it's not blue,Berkshire he is also dumbo

In the past ive had a albino (from a lab) a hairless and a classic black hooded feeder rat all female no dumbo

shebawolf wrote:Okay, I need some ratty advice...

I have two boys who aren't brothers but have lived together for a good while, and I think they are fighting.

So whenever I take Bria out and stroke him I always find these bloody scabs dotting his neck and back, I also find the same on Smoky.
I really don't know what to do. I've separated them when it's their feeding time, but I really don't think it's going to make a difference. Plus when I put Bria back into the cage, Smoky came down and they sort of had a stand off. It began with Smoky approaching Bria, there were two loud squeaks (I'm unsure of which rat they came from) before Smoky started to roughly groom Bria's neck. There was more squeaking so I separated them. However the stand off continued until they finally stopped.

I know this is for dominance, but I feel I need to do something about it. It would break my heart to permanently separate them as they do get along most of the time (and it's so sweet when they sleep together!). I know I could nurture them, it's just that's pretty expensive plus I don't really think it's right.

So what's you advice? Please help and thanks for reading

Some of this sounds like playing, two of my boys play all the time and the squeaking is a big part of it. The neck grooming thing is something they do on they have the other one on the clutches. The only thing that got me worried is the scabs...

Here's a silly question

Code: Select all
What do you rats do if you blow on them?

mine play with it they run away and than scamper back up and act the same way as if I was playing with them (like tackling them and bringing them onto there back like they do with each other) Some rats ive seen try to catch the air XD
