I'm sort of questioning you just as Midnight is. Firstly, if she's alone, you seriously need to get her a friend. And a female. Even if you plan on breeding her, does can get pregnant just as soon as they give birth and that can definitely take a toll in her physical and mental health. If you have any care whatsoever for your rat, you shouldn't take this word of advice lightly. Rats that are left without any friends can grow depressed; even to the point of self harm.
Why are you planning on breeding rats when you "just convinced your mom to let you have one"? I may be mistaken, but if I am in my right mind.. Does that mean that you have never ever owned rats before? It's not wise at all to plan on breeding rats before you get them or even after you've gotten them. Being a rat owner for seven years and having owned eleven rats, as well as my six current ones, I still don't think I would be a good breeder. I still have a long ways to go.
She's very beautiful, has very pretty markings and a nice color to her. ouo What is her name? May I ask where you got her? Just a little heads up, even if you do plan on breeding, I would never breed a pet store rat. It's no offense, I mean all of my rats except for Jack are Petstore rats and they turned out wonderful pets. But reeders- oh no. Petstore animals are poorly bred and have terrible bloodlines..

She is my only rat. But I do give a lot of attention to her. A lot. She especially loves my hood. Pink to be exact. I got her from my friend. I have done research on rats for about three years now. And I have been trying to get her another friend. I have owned a rat once before when I was about 10. But I was young and wanted to play and never had time for him so he passed on. I am currently working on getting a partner for her. Uhm... My rats name is Sunday. But I call her Sonny for short. She's absolutely a doll.
I draw origonal art of... Kiamara's and JBDs. I'm really good. I really want a fluffy, folded eared JBD. (: I draw art of her all of the time, just without markings.

Why are you planning on breeding?
Well, my friend said she got her from grange... And had her a year before she had to give her away. And I heard that my friend had a rat and it needed a home so I told her I'd take it. And I've had her since. I plan on breeding after I've had her for a while. I don't exactly know why I plan to breed...

What is grange? Did she come from a pet store or a breeder? How long are you planning on waiting to breed her? How many times will you breed her? Where will then babies go? How will you pay vet bills if a problem occurs? What are her genetics like? Any history of tumors in her line? What about the potiental stud? His lines health? Where will you get him from?

I was told and assumed that you shouldn't breed a female rat once they're a year old or older due to possible complications. Since their life span is only 2-3 years. 4 years is also possible.
Don't rats go into menopause at 18 months or so?
[size=150]I've quit CS, tho I'm seeking Birthday date swaps for Shima LongTail, Dragon Cat PPS, Cheshire Cat, dates in pet names

It depends on who you ask. Some say you should wait until after a year to give health problems time to deveolpe of they have any. Some say it has to be 8-10 months for the first time. Its hard to get a answer since everyone has a different opinion.
I've heard some become infertile as they age, but some can get pregnant up until the day they pass on.

Grange is a big somewhat pet store. The store gets rats from local breeders. Since my friend had her for a bit I am going to wait until I've had her about two months. I will only breed her once. The babies will go to friends of mine. My mom will help me take her to the vet and pay for vet bills. What do you mean her genetics? I don't know much about her history. The stud is my friends male. His lines are healthy. His parents weren't from a pet store but a breeder. I am not keeping the male. He is my friends.
