So this topic came up on a post on FB; but what's your opinion on Blood Magick?

Do you see it as a sin, an advantage, or something to be used?

I personally would never do it, but I see nothing wrong with it.

I have mixed beliefs on the thought of using blood in rituals. In one hand, it seems a great way to bind something, or have it more in tune with you. But it seems to border the 'and ye harm none', for how would you obtain said blood? I personally think that if you, say, cut yourself by mistake when shaving, then I don't see any darkness in using some blood from that that you may retrieve with a cotton-ball. But some people seem against the very idea so I don't know...

Like Willowkit said, it's border line. I myself would not do it unless I absolutely had to (protection spell, binding spell, making a spells more personal to ones self etc...)

But I did some research and the ancient Romans practiced blood-letting and it turns out that is was actually really good for people who had high blood pressure. So it, in my eyes, is not something to take lightly, but there can be good aspects of it.

I have mixed feelings as well, I'm not against anyone who chooses to use thier own blood in a ritual or perhaps purchesed blood from a butcher but there is a bit of a line whith harm none. If self sacrifice and the eating of meat are ok with the person performing the blood ritual than it shouldn't conflict, however if you interpret harm none in a very literal way than it would be a huge issue. Most of the spells I have seen have only required a drop or two of the casters blood as in a pin prick that would do no harm over all as a pinprick heals almost immediatly.

I'm a little leery of it, like most others, it is borderline. But I can see where it might make a spell stronger, like in a "healing doll spell" you could a drop or so of healthy blood to help strengthen the healing properties. But using blood in summoning spells, or binding spells can be potentially dangerous to the castor. If a spell goes wrong, or rebounds, or the spell is broken, it will lash back at the castor. I personally would stay away from it.

So I had my first surgery last friday and I was super scared about it.When I was under all I rememeber is dreaming I was in this beautyful forestt.It was so real when I thought about it later that day I thought it was a little wierd seeing as I don't normaly dream things like that.Could have been the goddess send me this dream so I could calm down,or could it have just been the drugs? I am really trying to figure this out because the forest felt like I have been there before.

I believe that it could very well be something sent to you- because, well most people never dream while under in a surgery. In fact most people say that it is impossible, the drugs are supposed to put you in a super deep sleep that doesn't allow dreams. Maybe it wasn't even a dream but a vision or there are also ideas that come to mind that your consciousness left your body for a while. I honestly can not give any set answer by any means- but those are my ideas.

Have you knowing done any astral traval before because that is more what it sounds like to me as well. I was only ever put under once and I'm a prolific travler as well as a lucid dreamer and got squat. I did wake up much sooner than thay planned for though probly because I have a strong will and serious control issues not in small part to multiple attemoted possesions. (because saying that doesn't make me sound crazy at all *facepalm)

I have hade weird dreams some what like this before but the have never been in a forest.Most of the time I'm in a foggy clearing and can't see much, I have had a few others like that where I'm in a place I feel I have been before but the feeling isn't as strong as the forest or the foggy clearing.Though since my surgery I have flipped flopped between the two dreams but I don't have them every night.Maybe I'm astral travaling and not knowing that I am.I don't really know...Would be wrong to ask the goddess what they mean or why I'm having them?

You can never go wrong by asking questions. the wost casr is usualy not getting an answer followed closely by snarky, rude or sarcastic answers, but I doubt if you reach out to the goddess she would be rude in any way.
