I am going to start breeding, but only once this time.
Then you should know rats dont have blue eyes and they need a same sex friend. Breeding isnt something to be taking lightly.
considering rats can have 12+ pups
i had one female give me 17, and another a couple of days later give me 12, 29 pups was a lot, and was hard to find homes for, i kept the majority of them, i ended up with over 150 rodents at one point (mind you this was about 4 years ago.
NEVER AGAIN <.<
now im at a lovely 2 males, 4 females, 1 natal rat and 1 mouse
sadly, my patchwork hairless female has massive tumor, and shes over 2 years old, i was debating surgery, but then i looked at the pros and cons and the cons outweighed the pros, expecially since rodents dont normally do well under aesthetic, she is over 2, and the tumors could potentially come back, she is also an overweight rat <.<
mind you, her daughter (also has tumors but theyre smaller and in a few places) and her 2 sons are also overweight.
the 2 other females in the cage are not, but theyre also smaller then most females i ever had (that were not overweight)
i wanted to get my female rat pregnant, then decided not too, fact that it would be really hard to find homes for them, and i dont want them to end up as feeders, id rather wait, then try to adopt from shelters, or get another from the pet shop.
dont get me wrong, i dont mind getting from breeders, but i dont plan on breeding my rats anyways, and feeder rats need love too
i sometimes bring my male rat outside and place him on my shoulder and i go for walks, some of the looks i get >.<
i know some poeple dont like rats, but you dont need to be rude about it, thats what annoys me with some people.
for a name
How about Tri
in autumn the leaves turn various colours, normally red, yellow, brown (aka tri colours xD)
