This is my Rat Erma she is a hairless rat and she is very tiny she is full grown and at a year old


And today we got a new rattie he is my first male and still a baby and he still needs a name (any ideas?) were going to get him nurtured before he meets Erma he has little Siamese points X3

Delilah and Teyha turned 2 this summer! I never got Delilah's tumors removed. There is only two and their not getting bigger or spreading, and they don't bother her. Plus she weezes - she was on medication for that and it didn't work - and she's getting older.. I just didn't think it was fair to her to put her through the pain of surgery. She's getting skinnier though even though she has a ton of food..
Teyha is still healthy as ever.

I think these two are my last pair of rats though. I had bad luck with Zeus, and then bad luck with these guys and it makes me sad. There aren't any breeders around here so any rat I get is from a pet store and they always turn out sick. Teyha is the only healthy one I have and she bites. It's been a great time having them but it kills me to see my animals not feeling well. :c

My rat Luna died of tumors recently and that is how she was she is getting skinnier because the tumors feed off of her food so she doesn't get it all tumors will come back so surgery is a bad idea spaying females helps with tumors later on so really you just have to put them down (you don't have to right now just when she gets really bad and has a hard time getting around and is uncomfortable) and never get rats from pet stores they will be most likely sick try to go for a breeder or a smaller pet store that knows what there doing and gets there rats from good breeders

My ratties have always come from petco/pet smart, sadly because we don't have any breeders nearby. I actually just met the first breeder who lived close to us a week or so ago, in a small pet shop I was in. My boy Oliver was sitting on my shoulder an the man came up to us to strike a conversation.

It's always funny, walking around in public with a rat. You always get a couple strange looks. ^.^ Or, even better, walking them on leashes, but I don't do that usually unless we're in my own garden, because mine always are able to wriggle through. :(

Bambi has a tumor that pops up and disappears every week or so. The vet "treated it" but it still came back. According to him, it's fine being there, and she doesn't seem to be in any pain. We still keep a close eye on it.

Wow, what a gorgeous rattie! My boys aren't very pretty, to be honest. cx But they are smart! I make it a big deal to train them, because we "show" the sweet little guys/gals for a couple Elementary schools and some hospitals and stuff. :)

He is very pretty at of all the rats we were choosing from he was the prettiest (although thats not all why we chose him though XD) yeah tumors suck

I cannot wait for five weeks to be up. I'm breeding Zinc back to Danish-- I should DEFINITELY get neat markings/colors that I've been trying for with it.

And, my new hairless gal.. I'm breeding her soon, since her lines milk like jersey cows. BUT. to be 100% sure, I'm breeding her the same time as Danish so I have a nursing momma just in case something does go wrong with her milking on her own.

I can say I'm quite proud of the lines I'm working with. ^^ I'm looking for a mink male to breed to my hairless, as she is an agouti broken hooded top ear gal.. so that I can get cinnamon-- a dream color of mine!

Ah, the breeder we met a the pet store has gorgeous cinnamon colored ratties! I want one, they're beautiful, but I don't need another rat, since we just got Jack, and my girls are only just now settling in with him. And I couldn't get a male to go with the boys, because Ollie, Peter, and Sebastain as just plain ole meanies. They attacked Jack when I tried to socialize them, and I don't want to take another chance. They're just a big bad gang of wolves. O.o

So, a lot of y'all breed ratties, apparently? I've never done it, it just really never occurred to me to do my own breeding. cx

He is two to Three months of age, and is a dark brown agouti rat with unusual blue eyes. {Not Blind.}
I am hoping to get a cream/silver hooded rat so they can become cage-mates, and then later on even breed together. ;w;

Any name suggestions for him? Something in the 'Autumn' range. I want his name to be based off my favorite season. <3

Where did you get him from?

Also he really needs a male cagemate or if you get a female one of them should be fixed. If you allow a male and female to interact you will have many many babies very soon. (If they live together they will breed over and over which is not good for the mother or pups health.)

A agouti rat shouldnt have blue eyes.... He needs a same sex friend

I got him from a rat breeder.

Well, they kinda look blue in different types of light, but then again, I do have eye problems.
And no, I would only breed them once.

Edit; just checked, his eyes are black.

Once one of my friends remarked that my Sebastain's eyes where blue if you held him to the light. So, we repeatedly Lion King'd him to no avail. I have no clue what sort of drugs my friend was on. ^.^
Nah, but I don't know, I think Ollie's eyes may have had a tiny blue tint to them when he was younger, and maybe now. I mean, they look black though.
