Should I close BWSDA? If not, what should I change about it?
I don't think you should close them. I've been in enough species to kinda of know that a small dip of inactivity over things like holidays (summer, Christmas season) aren't all that bad. As long as we have some people still actively participating and enjoying the species, there is no reason to close them.
What do you all want to see that would make the community more active (if I choose to keep it open)?
I like the idea of customs occasionally. I also like the idea of seasonal events, though I know they're a lot of work to put on.

Should I close BWSDA? If not, what should I change about it?No, I don't think you should close them...Too many species are closing. I know they aren't as active as JBDs and Plumies were, but I don't think many species are(i don't even know what made them so popular). With both of them now closed, maybe more can get noticed...I tried running a species. Twice. Neither time did as well as these guys! However, I have no clue as to what should change...I think they are awesome the way they are. Perhaps, more events?
What do you all want to see that would make the community more active (if I choose to keep it open)?Maybe more GiftLines and a RP thread or something...? Something to get and keep users involved and developing their Huskies...

I wouldn't say close it. Its honestly one of the few active canine species on CS omitting all the unrealistic ones.
I wouldn't say change much about BWSDA itself; however the species itself appears inactive, as despite all the staff it has only a handful ever do anything. To onlookers if the species staff doesn't look active, they might not take interest. Perhaps doing an activity sweep with the staff and looking to hire new ones would be great; I know people who are good at realistic designs but are nudged away because dog genes are hard to tackle at first, so perhaps if you looked for artist for those who are good at realistic designs but not so good at the genes, perhaps offer help to those artists? Since I know not a lot of artists know dog genes, but are willing to learn: maybe just have a system where newer artists run geno types (n possibly designs) by a more experienced staff member? ; v ; If you do decide to hire more artists.
What do you all want to see that would make the community more active (if I choose to keep it open)?
I saw someone suggest doing a newbie guide of sorts for the species- perhaps making one of those? The community might be more active if it looked a bit less daunting- the same people here and the rest feeling rather excluded.
I also might suggest making the community more active by having the staff and the users themselves more active; I used to be in a very active dog species, and most of the artists got to bond with the non-staff community through join.me's or through other streaming. Or alternatively, over a species group chat u v u
I think having more dogs and members in the species will generally make the community more active, but I know as some people suggested already perhaps that summer event might help; perhaps having things like a daily raffle and adopts, as well as prizes for current huskies. That should draw more people in as well as keep current owners interested.

No! Please do not close this wonderful species. One suggestion I have is that maybe opening up breedings more often or getting more breeding artists. I sent a couple breeding requests to an artist and they never responded. I really enjoyed the rescue event. I also think occasionally opening up customs (with limitations to normal dog colors) would help too. Or semi customs.

I love join.me's and events like that
