Ah, the endless SAO debates. From reading a massive amount of comments on it over the past couple years, I've realized that it's either one of those things you really love or you really hate. I'm in the former group. I truly enjoyed reading some of the light novel of SAO along with watching the anime, and I still love it. I don't care if it's irrational. How many anime are completely rational in the first place? XD
Sure, there are plenty of areas SAO could improve on, but it's amazing to me that it's become the center of so much controversy. It's far from the worst anime out there and yet, it's the topic of so much hatred, and so much love as well. You even mention "SAO" somewhere on the internet and you'd better be prepared for the storm that follows.

But yeah, I agree with all the new points kai. said. If you want to watch SOA, watch the first 14 episodes or so and then leave it at that.
Does anyone here like Accel World? I think it was created by the same person as SOA but never got as popular. I prefer it over SOA however, and would rather have another season for Accel World as it has yet to have a conclusion.
Hah, yep, it is.
The end was a little unsatisfying in my opinion, but those two episodes are just so emotional!
I heard about Accel World... do you recommend it?
I am a holibomber!
I have gifted 17 people.
I have received 13 gifts.

Sure, there are plenty of areas SAzu O could improve on, but it's amazing to me that it's become the center of so much controversy. Well it's pretty much like the reaction to Twilight or Fifty Shades of Grey. But there are not so many negative comments about Harry Potter or Naruto. There are people that don't like it, but they don't talk about it so much. Somehow there are just more people that just find it ok. Maybe since there are more people who love it, more people feel the urge to say that they don't like it? While HP is so popular, even if you don't like it you kinda have to praise the creativity, while SAO and Twilight are just not that extraordinary? Like I don't like SNK, but still see that it has good action, while I just think that Twilight is way to long for it's story (though I don't go as far as to say I hate it, it is ok as movie). Somehow the stories or the fandom provoke most people to develop a clear opinion for or against it. At the same time there is a growing hate of anything mainstream - it's just everywhere, books, movies, music or the news (something I don't quite understand...).
Did you read the No.6 novels by the way?
I used to be online a lot here, but I became bored of this site and I don't like some of the rules here.
Now I'm pretty busy as well. You can still try to message me though, I might be online again now and then : )

If you were interested in SOA or other video game manga, then yeah, I would recommend Accel World. The biggest issue most people have is the main character, who is unrealistically tiny (he looks like a chibi in comparison to everyone else lol) and not a typical protagonist that is super strong. He is a coward, loner, and the only thing he is good at is video games. I actually like him a lot though, as he goes through some decent development later on personality-wise.
Although the stakes in this series aren't like SOA with death, losing all points in the game Accel World erases a person's memory of the game and they can never enter it again. The game also gives some supernatural powers, so a struggle for power is a pretty large factor to the plot. Although I'm sure you could probably find some issues like SOA, I didn't really spot that many when I watched it. The romance was not nearly as heavy as SOA, more of a side note or part of the motivation for the plot if anything, which I preferred.

amen orz
the thing that bothers and intrigues me most in the anime and manga community is why people get so caught up about what other people think of something they do or don't like??
just watch whatever the heck you like,,

Alakazam, shish boom bam, the fish jumped out of the frying pan.
