Pft, nah. I always want to try something new when it comes to making signatures.
For commission, I made the handwriting gif, I haven't done that at all, so it was an interesting experiment.
That took forever cause what I had to do was get a reference from a fancy calligraphy font that was for free, write it down so many times until I got it correct and consistent and then I recorded myself writing it so it was in the space of the canvas.. Well, I tried to, it didn't work as well handwriting it wise so I ended up just sketching it in as best I can, taking screenshots every so often and then putting it all together as a gif, removing the background and there we go.
That one little handwriting gif took close to 5 hours on it's own, maybe even more >.<
Sad thing is the bottom of the g is cropped. Ah well, can't win all the time. >.<
I am on mobile.

you all have your fancy signatures

and I'm just here

deciding on whether or not I'm gonna scrap my current one or redo it

it's all because of you, fake edit. it's your fault

--

but aa I'm so happy

I found the perfect gifset for a new signature

which is actually my current one

that's amazing! you must be really devoted to signatures, and i can tell since i have always taken a liking to your signature layouts.
a lot of the time i just try to look for official art, or gifs that are free to use.

My friend likes to make gifs like that! She does it by starting on the right hand side and erasing it piece by piece, saving the pictures as she goes. Then when she puts them in reverse order, it looks like someone is writing them rather than erasing them.

Yes, thank you for the complements :P
It makes sense, to do that first. Sometimes I need to resort to doing that as a reference and re-draw the gif a bit, like in my sig, the smoke was based off a stock dustcloud gif, but I redrew it so it worked in a similar fashion, so it is a recontextualization from a stock dust cloud, which I can call my own >.<

    Ah xP
I have never done that method >.<
For that to work, it would have taken me a lot less time but I would be picky with the details down to the pixel >.<
I might do a tutorial on it one day when I get the time. I have just been way to busy ugh.

Mimo. wrote:I've never been taught how to make handwriting gifs but it looks awesome!

I'll probs do a tutorial on it eventually >.< I'm gonna try Of the Falls's friends method to see how it goes. I am gonna guess it looks the same anyway.

    And welcome Chrome!

Sorry for it being a while to reply, I couldn't quote and type on my phone :(
