"What's the most unique or unexpected gift you've ever given or received for Christmas?"

My wife managed to convince me that she was DEFINITELY NOT proposing for the holidays so it was very unexpected when she did! I’ve always been a little gullible but I do think she did a good job. (We’ve been married for 12 years now 😊)

Honestly, the most unexpected present I've received is probably when I was 5 and I got this robotic horse toy from FurReal friends called Butterscotch. I remember it clear as day, my family at my grandparents house. We're all told to sit together on the sofa for my surprise gift my grandad and uncle drag this huge box into the living room. they open it, my uncle reaches in and its just this super realistic (to a 5 year old) horse head with no body! Everyone laughed for a good 10 minutes about how a kids toy came packaged in a way that made it look like a crime scene. I had begged for that toy but never actually expected to receive it! I remember being soo happy and that thing lasted a good 5-7 years of pretty regular use before it inevitably stopped working!
I think that might be one of my favourite memories to be honest!
Here's a photo I found of Butterscotch that I found on google! (not my photo)

my beloved n3dsxl!
to set the scene... i was young, at my grandma's for the weekend. christmas was coming up. i tore through all my presents, until there was only one left. a huge box, think like 3 feet long. i was disappointed- i'd been BEGGING for a 3ds, but theyre so little! this box was way too big!

i open the box... to another box. then another. and another. until i get to a little one, maybe 6 inches long. when i open that? beautiful, sleek dark red- and an animal crossing game to match! :-)

anyway my 3ds is named mikey and hes modded i love him dearly

There’s one Christmas from my childhood I’ll never forget. I walked out to the livingroom and there was this giant stuffed dragon sitting next to the tree. It was taller than me at the time and I was just in awe. There was a small box in front of it and in that little box was a gameboy with Pokemon Blue. It was my first ever gaming device and I was so excited. I sat with that giant dragon and caught my first Pokemon that day. I will never forget the pure magic of that.

I would say when I was a kid, I was obsessed with snow cones, still am they are soo good. I asked for a snow cones machine (a small toy one) and ended up getting it and was so excited. I used it super often but then it ended up breaking eventually. We got another one for my birthday which worked better but eventually broke too.
