On top of my confusion on this, the girl who was sort of guiding a few friends and I through this has gone off the grid. She moved schools, I moved schools, my other friends moved schools and we all split up; but we kept in touch and consulted each other with this... which is why I haven't been on here much... but she has totally disappeared from facebook and everything. Long story short, I need someone who would be willing to answer all of my questions and help me along... which is entirely blurry and foggy.
Another thing, do any of you happen to have spirit animals/guides? Mine is a burrowing owl...
Much confusion too. I've asked for help, received some. Many helpful people 'round here! I sort of feel the same way....atheist typ of person.
And how on earth do you find your spirit animal? I've tried many things. Someone told me to just ask my inner self. My inner self's reply was "SHAWT AWP IM THINKING". Literally. I don't work well mentally. Do better working magic/energy physically.
By my knowledge Wicca is very flexible, it doesn't say "you have to believe this" or tell you "that's wrong, it's not Wicca" for me personally I believe the god and goddess are not all-knowing beings rather representations of natures forces, so not real gods.
I have heard that sometimes your spirit guide comes to you in dreams. So far I have not had any luck meeting my spirit animal/guide but I haven't tried very hard

I was home alone for a week while my parents were one vacation and my siblings were off with my grandma... so I meditated for the longest time with some scented candles and smoking herbs in my closet so I wouldn't set off the smoke alarms. Now she just shows up in dreams and when I get the chance to meditate sometimes.

*nod nod* Seems legit to me, I view them in a similar way that you do... not exactly gods but forces of nature.

I found a nice little chant you can do before you sleep, it's what helped me find my spirit animal;
Guardians of the dreamworld,
I call you to my side,
Show me my spirit animal,
My protector and my guide,
Show me the beauty, power and grace,
In the radiant eyes of my guardians face.
Hi, I'm Willowkit17, feel free to call me Willow, or Crow...I prefer Crow.
"Sometimes I wonder if I'm only a ghost
Wearing human skin I never chose
I listened to the devil as he spoke
Because he tempted me with a beautiful rose"---
"I know I love you but I won't
But I just need something to calm my nerves
Tell you a thing in case you don't
Preferably a cigarette or something just as absurd
I know I miss you, but it's OK
Or maybe I want my anxiety to stay
I don't get depressed when I am lonely
'Cause in the end it's all I have to ease the pain
Of the distance that took you away"

Do you have to put some energy and belief towards it [or some sort of spell], or do you just have to say it?

My main one is a Lioness named Rama c: <33 I treat her as if she's my other mom since she doesn't really have cubs..so i'm like hers. I also have 5 cats which consit of the spirit of my own cat, there Luna, Maddie, Nelly, Bella (my real cat), and a male one who hasn't said anyhting aobut himself yet...I feel like I have more though (Yes you cna have more than one.)
What I do is I meditate on it, which is really hard to do sometimes ._. Once i'm able too I invison myself walking down a path in an enchanted forest sort of thing..or just go to your happy place. My would be an secluded forest with a small stream and cottage. Once oyur there ask if oyu oculd see your spirit animal, and then search around to find it...It may take awhile though..
..
.
then again thats how i do it.

About if you can be an atheist wiccan. Yes you can. You don't need a God or Goddess. All you need is nature and an understanding of the energies in the universe.
I don't really have a classification of wicca myself. I believe that every God or Goddess that anyone has ever believed in exists and that no religion is wrong and that one is not better than any other. I pull my beliefs from many places.
Spirit animals... Oh wow. Mine is a Raven. His name is Draven. I named him myself when I was a kid. I have a bond to ravens that has been there since my birth. My mother and father told me stories about the snow storm that hit the day I was born and that in the middle of the storm, the snow seemed to stop at my birth and a black bird (they didn't know if it was a raven or crow) was looking in from a window. Then after that I had quite a few of them as friends/pets. The main one always has one blue eye and one black. and he always brings a female to meet me and then they have babies and die and one of the babies always has one blue eye. Its been like that since I was 5 or so. (i'm over 20)
As far as how to find one, I've always known them to show themselves when they are needed and its usually in dreams. Like my fiance has one and his is a bull named James.
Just start asking questions here. I'm sure at least one of us will have an answer for you.
On another note. I had the best sleep of my life last night and so did my fiance. We hung an amethyst and a clear quartz crystal above our bed. Amethyst dispells nightmares and the clear quartz is to purify. We also started wearing rings made of Hemetite to ward off darkness and negative energy.

Umm... Can I put this in my book of shadows? I'm new to wicca and I kinda have nothing in it. smilypitbull55 wrote:I have an... odd question. Is it possible to be an atheistic wicca? I've started to realize I'm not really committed to believing in a higher power of any kind.
I'm pretty sure I'm an atheist wiccan, though I do address the world and nature as mother nature, so yeah, I went to a Christian school but I was never sure about him, well, there's no proof of him so I stopped believing in him, not like wicca.
When it comes to spiritual animals, well, although I've done no spiritual tests, I'm pretty sure I have a domestic cat as my spiritual animal, it keeps seeming to come through me, that's the only way I can put it. How else can you hen you starthissing at something/one if they come up behind you. My friend thinks I'm a therean even! Here is some info on it, if you don't know.
By the way do you need anything (like an altar) to do in a ritual/spell?
/////////Two birds on a wire,
//////one says "c'mon!"
//////and the
//////other says "I'm tired..."

e.o My mother threw away my improvised book of shadows yesterday when I was at school. She just found it, flipped through it and threw it away... in the dumpster out in the parking lot of our apartment building... if it had been in our kitchen trash can I could have retrieved it... but it was in the dumpster instead... that was roughly a year and a half's work with my little group of friends... gone... some stuff we worked out on our own and that was the only copy we had... what was she thinking?! I know she doesn't entirely approve this, but throwing out what is basically my equivalent of a bible?!
