I'd like to introduce two new gals & a boy that have made it offical for me that I own my mentor's complete russian blue lines now.
SCRR Henry,
SCRR Mae-Ling&
SCRR Pixie<3
Keep in mind, Mae-Ling's ear is split from roughhousing at a young age and us not getting to her in time to do much other than clean it and allow it to heal. She is PERFECTLY fine and has shown no issues from having a split ear.
Henry has an off-color in a way. He carries this weird smoke gene that's unofficial yet until we breed the lines further to prove it as something new so he, sullivan and sueann are listed under russian blue 'varient'. They're also REALLY shiny in person..
But, yeah. Pixie is a double 'false odd-eye', I'm loving those ruby pupils on her. And Mae-Ling is actually Russian Dove, but is sister to my rbs Naomi & Ocelot. She'll be bred to my mink carrier Hugo in hopes for mink offspring. ^^ she makes some purdy babies, so I'm confident in her.
Pixie will be bred to Henry in a few months or so.
At the moment, I have a
breeding planned for June 14th between Henry's brother SCRR Sullivan and my possum-faced gal J&J Danish. c:

Update Of Mouse and Badger: :3
Mouse's abscess is nearly all healed except for a small scab. But he's all good. He is also really sweet. He comes to his name already when he's outside his cage and loves coming out. He is really friendly but loves to escape.
Badger on the other hand is just the complete opposite. He is really fearful and runs away every time I open up the cage, I get him out and handle him but he hates it. I think he really hates people. He will take food from me and be a little terror when I let him out lol. He loves to run around my room but I don't think he will ever be a cuddly boy. I hope that when he gets older he will calm down a lot.
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

you do realize that most breeders do actually inbred right? sounds like you need to do some more research...
and yes you are giving them the chance by having them together for any amount of time.
I truely hope you get him a SAME SEX friend....
Own a baby? you mean a pair of same sex babies right?

*Edited this*
Yes, this probably came across as a bit rude.
I can't really apologise for what my post actually said though. I still think it's completely irresponsible and it's not in the rats best interest, neither of them.
You shouldn't just breed rats because *you* want to.... you don't know either of their backgrounds and literally just got the boy. What about all of the possible complications? Is that really worth it?

Look, I'm offically leaving this thread.
I post a few things and were totally piled up on, that is not what I was looking for. If you had problems you could have worded them nicely, for all I saw was complains and no help on how I might be able to figure out things. I love my rats. No I'm not the most experienced owner in the world, but I am smart enough to know if my female and male have breeded. I was watching and know how rats mount and nothing of the sort happened, did you think I was that naive not to know?? I feel utterly insulted.
Own a baby? you mean a pair of same sex babies right?
Yes, sorry for being so wide on that. I'd refuse anyone who wouldn't take two as they should be willing to if they want to own rats, not to mention same sexed.
How can you be so careless? You don't care if she is pregnant or not?
I said I was simply not bothered if she was pregnant or not, due to the fact if she is/was we are prepared already meaning that any babies would be perfectly looked after. This is why I am laid back at this but I am not careless, I wouldn't be looking after a pet - caring for it if I was careless.
That's despite the fact you know nothing about her background.
I've owned my female since she was of buying age. I also know that my two rats are not related and, unfortunately, my male (Harley) may suffer from respiratory problems later on in life. I know as much as I believe I need about my rats, and I doubt you do as they are not yours...
Also thank you Raven Feather, but this thread isn't for me sorry because if people listened then they would have noticed more carefully what I had written, though I confess it may be a little blurred.
Goodbye. If you wish to contact me, Pm.

Raven Feather wrote:Rachaelandrats that post is incredibly rude. I have spoken to you about your rude remarks towards other before and honestly if you are not willing to stop you will have to leave. Each owner does it their own way. I have a pair of females but only one male. Armageddon is on his own for a reason.
I just edited my post before reading this.
Sorry, but I'm constantly getting told off by other members, and it's getting a bit tiring. Some members here don't give their rats wellbeing a second thought sometimes. I'm not going to sit back and say nothing... yes, people do things differently, but there's that and then there is being completely irresponsible.
Also... I have two lone boys right now too. That's totally different to letting a boy and girl "play" and breeding for no apparent reason.

Thank you!

That did help! I'll probably wait until school starts back up again or late into the summer. I'm busy moving so wouldn't want to stress them out.

I have a really odd story to tell about my rat.
Ok, so their was this little baby bird in our backyard that I wanted to save. It looked like it was about ready to leave the nest but my cat got it.
So I took it into my room and put in a box with no lid, I left the room got something to eat and when I came back the little bird had been ripped apart by my rat that was in his cage on the floor....their was literally nothing but feathers..
How he got it in their I do not know, but I was really freaked.

I was told by a Specialist (who deals with rats) that its best to get females spayed, as males may have issues from being neutered, not only that, it also lowers the risk of females getting mammary tumors.
Also in regards to "watching" the male and female, it takes a fraction of a second for a male to mount a female, and a female rat CAN get pregnant as young as 4 weeks of age.
As long as you are able to care for the pups and can find homes for them that wont result in the pups being food, theres nothing wrong with allowing rats to breed.
[size=150]I've quit CS, tho I'm seeking Birthday date swaps for Shima LongTail, Dragon Cat PPS, Cheshire Cat, dates in pet names
