A few server-side updates have been going on that perhaps not everyone is aware of.

For starters it would seem that spawn mechanics have changed up a bit. The "uncommon" Pokemon are becoming more common, particularly noticeable in rural and suburban areas where usually only Pidgeys and Weedles can be found.

Hah, whoever told you that was a liar. All that's on my nearby list right now is a weedle, pidgey, and rattata. Same, boring pokemon as always (I had the fully evovled versions of these guys within the first week of my playing).

i still mostly find those pidgins and weedles too, but i did manage to find a goldeen while biking around my community

I agree, I've been seeing uncommon pokemon way more. I actually have a seaking because of this.

I found another goldeen today at the same spot, and it was 413 cp. I don't if it's a spawn of if 2 goldeens spawned at the same place by coincidence. Also, that appraise thing is weird

6.6km into my 10k egg!! probably hatch tomorrow.
also evolved a drowzee & a eevee which turned into a flareon (using the trick) and its the highest cp pokemon i have now so thats cool.
i'm really trying to find the lapras that kept appearing in my sightings!! every time it appeared i was always busy which sucks so bad, now its probably gonee =[
