Okay so Badger is just a little .....!

He is so naughty. I can't seem to tame him, Mouse is really sweet and although nervous he is happy to come over and sit on me and play with my hand but Badger is the complete opposite!

I never thought a rat could be such a pain!

Firstly, I tke 15 minutes to convince him to come out the cage. Then try to handle him to get him used to people, doesn't bite but he puts up a fight. Then he runs around my room hiding and then he discovers the amazing place called 'Narnia!' (<It's actually behind my wardrobe but Narnia is more fun XD) I actually did a pretty good job at blocking it off this time as was watching the area he normally goes but the little .... sweetie pie ... found another rout!

So I spent, literally I counted the time, five hours trying to get him out! Normally it would not be a problem except my wardrobe has a few pointy nails and so is rather dangerous if he pokes himself so yup.

I have ended up moving my room around so he can not longer escape down there or even get down there. Hopefully this will stop him hiding from me and I can make friends with him.

I swear it's a love hate relationship with Badger lol. I love him to bits but he is a pain.

I will get some pics soon, they've grown a bit (apparently a lot, I haven't noticed much of a change but I see them a lot) and their coats have changed a little. XD

Your Badger sounds a lot like my Bimisi. There are some rats that just don't appreciate human contact. I have had Bimisi for over a year and he's only now allowing me to hold him. And at this point I think it's only because he's terminally ill and doesn't have the willpower to fight back anymore.
He and I gained an understanding eventually, where I could touch him when HE allowed me to as long as I gave him plenty of play time, moved slowly when approaching, and offered plenty of treats.

I think with Badger he hasa huge fear of people. I don't think he was ever handled before I got him or if he was it was only being picked up by the tail and dumped in a box then put back again when they cleaned him out. (He didn't come from a nice place) and possibly he could be less confident than mouse.

He takes food from me a bit but only when he is hiding. :/

Anyways Bug has decided that he wants to become a bra rat. I was wearing a tank top (part of my pjs so it's a slightly low cut lol) he then crawled into my bra and just sat there lookin at me. I got some weird looks when my mother walked into my room to give me a drink.

(I took these of the rats at college and only just realized today that they were the ones I ended up picking out! o.O Thats pretty amazing as there were over 20 rats in that cage and they all looked similar (Mouse was the only one that colour though).

Mouse wasn't so cuddly :/ he preferred to beat them up XD.

Their markings have changed a bit. Badger's is easier to see, his are fading a bit and he has white hairs showing in his grey and Mouse's coat is turning a bit more...brownish? (Not sure how to explain it, I'm not too sure what the coat colours for rats are called)

Is it normal for my girls to nip my fingers everytime I take them out? It's almost like their testing me. They will nip me but not hard and leave their teeth on my finger for a minute than go back to playing.

Rats will nibble to test if your fingers are edible, could be there tying to do that?

A few updates from me... Havent been on much so lack of photos being posted but would like to introduce some ratties of mine

First is Zelda and her babies at 4 weeks old
