I've heard so many horrific things about this game. I wanted to know whether or not it's fun. On MSN news, most of the news articles are about PokemonGo mishapes, several involving death. The news makes everything a bit more dramatic but it is really that bad?

You mean the "robberies" that were conducted by 3 punk kids that are now in jail? It's amazing how scared the entire nation can get when the news plays the fearmonger. THEY WERE KIDS. Three of them out of the whole nation.

As far as I know the only verified stories are...
1. Car crash in New York. Driver was playing Pokemon Go while driving and crashed into a tree. He survived.

2. Two men fell off a cliff in California trying to catch Pokemon. They climbed over a fence designed to keep people off the cliff to do this. Both survived.

3. Two stabbings in California and Oregon. Both survived, Oregon player refused to get help so he could catch more Pokemon.

As a resident of California, I can attest that people doing banal things dangerously is common. I've dodged cars while crossing on pedestrian crossings because people were texting or putting on makeup while driving and have nearly been hit by drivers texting. If anything Go has made me a more cautious driver because I just assume everyone is going to drive even more like a lunatic than normal.

So, the takeaway from that is, don't be stupid and you'll be fine. If you need to catch something, just stop walking and catch it.
Don't ever play while driving. I mean, there's been a bunch of PSAs that says "just pay attention to your surroundings, dummy".

My takeaway from those stories is, those are the idiots that are texting and driving in the first place so blaming it on the game is just a straw man.
