Goes by: You can obviously call me Defy, or Gravity. But most call me Ozma or Façade.
Favourite Book: How can you do this to me?!
        Graceling--Kristin Cashore
        Skulduggery Pleasant--Derek Landy
Electrified Sheep--forgot the author's name (nonfiction)
Favourite Author: Derek Landy, easily. Most other authors are also amazing--but only Landy can consistently come up with hilarious quotes about the migration of birds. (Nope, you don't get it.) And Brandon Mull for the Candy Shop War, an amazing book. Bravo.
Why you love to read: Because I do. Dunno, can't name a reason, really...
Why you joined: I need a place to rave about my favorite books, debate the best characters, and/or find new reads. And, quite frankly, there just aren't enough book-based roleplays on this site... I NEED MORE! I'm sure I have more reasons that are stuffed in a corner of my brain somewhere.

He is! A lot of people got upset with the plot line of the trilogy, because they basically kill the God of their world(s)... but (even though I am Christian) I loved the books and all. Very detailed... I first read them in 4th grade and have read them 3 times since!

I haven't Stephen King books, but he's deffs on my list. Have you read anything by Darren Shan? I'm on the fifth Cirque Du Freak book and I bought another book by him Lord Loss, or something along those lines.

Does anyone ever roleplay their favorite book(s)?

I do, especially with the Hunger Games. Actually, I just started a semi-literate Hunger Games roleplay.

I was just curious if anyone ever does that with their favorite books or movies... Usually I get addicted to books after I finish them, so creating a roleplay partially satisfies my cravings cx

I love participating on Lord of the Rings themed role plays. I find it really interesting how others portray the different characters. I haven't participated in many other role plays that are based off of books, other than a warriors RP, but I don't like warriors nearly as much as I like LOTR.
Hi all! I'm (hopefully) back from a very long absence. So sorry for leaving you all hanging! I won't be online as often as I used to, but I'll be around :)

THE BOOK CLUB

Postby - serendipity » Sat Mar 02, 2013 6:05 am

      accepted and welcome all new members cx }}

i've never read stephen king and never really been interested in it either, however after hearing lots of raving reviews about hi - from cs and in real life - i've decided to add him to my list. he's right at the bottom now and i don't know how long it'll be before i get a chance to read anything of his. however i will look out for him and try to get my hand on one of his books.

i used to roleplay my favourite books but i haven't done it recently. i don't know why, because i enjoyed doing it, i just haven't found anything or interest yet. maybe i'll get back into it soon; if i find a good plot.

so it seems some of you have been unable to find the book. well, to not stop you from reading it i did a bit of searching and found this. you can tfios online or download it as an ebook. so - hopefully - that means all of you whom were unable now can read the book with us. today is the day we start reading and by next thursday please try to have read the first seven chapters. of course, read on, but don't reveal any spoilers/events past the end of chapter seven. on friday i'll post some questions on the chapters one-seven and then we can have some group discussion on what has happened so far, what you think of the book, style, characters etc. and what you think is going to happen next. if you read ahead or have already read the book, i'm afraid you will be unable to answer the latter question because you already know what happens. as you go along feel free to make comments on what you've read but either save them on a word document and upload them on next friday, or just tag them as spoilers and put them in
small writing so only those who want to can read it. i think that's everything so, until my next post - goodbye and happy reading cx
