My novel takes place in another world. Kinda like a medieval kingdom. The main character is Rowan, the king's niece. There is a group of people called Them, who always wear bright red hooded cloaks and go around trying to make the kingdom better. The Them do not like slavery and believe in women's rights. The people in the kingdom fear and hate Them, and there is always a great celebration if one of Them is caught and hung.
Rowan does not like slavery, and wishes she had more rights. She has had several odd encounters with some of Them. Then, during a feast for the prince's birthday, They attack the building, trying to get a certain something from the prince. During the fight, Rowan accidentally kills a nobleman while trying to save one of Them. She knows she can not stay in the palace having killed someone, so when They leave with their prize, she follows. She ends up joining Them, and falling in love with one of Them.
The item that They wanted was a dragonfly pin, made out of a blue-ish metal called tingillium. The dragonfly has the power to make the owner the most powerful being in the kingdom, if the correct password is said. The prince had found it in the castle and known what it was, but not how to use it. And somehow They had known he had it. They wanted it because the leader of Them, an exiled princess named Gerevnae, wanted to use it. Gerevnae, Rowan, Isaac (the person she falls in love with), and Brico (another member of Them) go on a quest all around the kingdom and farther to find clues to the password that works the tingillium dragonfly.
I could go on and on about the complicated plot, but that's all I have time for for now.
So that's what my novel is about. It is called "Them", obviously XD
