All I guess I can suggest is to give your form as much effort as possible. For example; for an 'Impress Me' comp, I would do more than expected. Even if that means extra art and time spent writing stories (:

Im so afraid to try out though, for some reason.

I see how hard they are to get and im like 'i can do it' and I end up rage quitting.

@Seiko Shinohara - The tips I can offer are:
don't give up! : I know it can be really scary and discouraging entering contests with so many other people, and it can come down to luck a whole lot, but if you keep trying, one day that lucky person will be you!
and
never be afraid to ask for help or ask an artist for clarification of what they want in a contest!
sometimes it can help you get your form on topic with what the judges will be looking for or can save you from accidentally getting yourself disqualified!
