It's too much work for me. I'm a lazy person, you see... Do you know how to make the little Siggy block like the one horsey has?

lol
Dressage I will admit is pure torture.
Most people like it, but I hate it.
I just wish that I could do cross country all day. X)

No, sorry.
Maybe you could ask horsy.

Cross country is the bane of my existence.. I tried it with Halo once and it just didn't work out. Dressage is amazing, but it takes a fair amount of good horsemanship.

The main reason that I hate dressage is because Koda hates it. X)
He's sees the dressage arena and he immediately turns into a big brat.
He's actually very good at it though, he just doen't like it.
He loves cross country though.
Once he's sees the course he gets all excited and starts prancing around.
Then on course he acts like a pro. :)
At the last horse trial we competed in we had the fastest time of everyone in our division.
But we didn't go so fast that we got penalties. C:

That's great! I'm more of a jumping person, but I like the organized, fancy, show jumping competitions. That's mainly why I don't like Cross Country. My horse can't do it, and I like the showier part of competing.

Show Jumping's really fun, but it's hard to keep Koda's energy bottled up. >.<

Hey guys!!

I need a hand! Like big time! Within the next 2 weeks, i have to get Clancey and myself ready for a show. My second show ever. Now i know the basic rules, and i've basically read the entire panflat (can't spell, sorry) about everything i need to do with him and stuff. But i have no idea how i need to dress! Now the class that i am entering is a led class. It is specifically for thoroughbred geldings and i'm hoping to at least get Reserve Champion Thoroughbred Gelding. But i am not sure i'll win, but hey, i have goals. So could anyone tell me what the appropriate dress code is for a led class. And could you guys give me some tips on how to make my fluffy idiot look great? (He is getting a shave and getting shoes on his front feet the week before. So next weekend). Thanks for anything you guys can help with! <3

By led you mean halter, yes? If so, you can ride whatever you wish, though I'd recommend wear such as english(not sure about the breeches). As for Clancey, just shave stray hairs on his fetlock and around the tops of the hooves if that is what you'd prefer. Remove any unwanted or shaggy looking hairs around the legs. Pluck any long hairs that stick out of the over all coat(Time consuming, I know). After doing this, use a shampoo such as cowboy magic(or magic cowboy. I don't know which way it is). Use white and bright on any socks and white areas, just be careful not to get it on the actual colored coat(In some cases it may bleach the coat. Depends really.) It's best to towel dry him(VERY time consuming) to prevent any unwanted waves in the coat from air drying. As for the mane, if he has a split mane like Gebb, I always band it to the side where the most hair is. Then on the day of the show, take the bands out and comb the hair downward to make it lay on that side. For the tail, be sure to clean it completely and put it in a tail bag. You may want to wrap the tail if he tends to roll at night. Then, just get the absolute cleanest, and most beautiful halter you can find and use it (WITH A MATCHING LEAD ROPE). That's all I can think of. Oh! be sure to rub him down with a small, soft towel on the day of the show to tame any stray hairs.

Thanks for the horse info Zax! But as for me, i am not actually riding him. The led class i am entering is to show the horse, not myself ontop of the horse XD. I am going to be using a bridle for the occasion (the bridle will be leather polished ect), and we are getting a leather lead rope. But i'd like to know what i am to be wearing as the handler. I've seen shows with handler and horse but i have never been appart of it.

That's what I meant. The attire is completely up to you. I've done halter with Cody and I wore english wear and he's a western horse. It doesn't really matter unless you are in a competition where the judges are big meany heads like when I was at my hunter jumper comp. and Hunter and I had points deducted because one of his english braids weren't in exact alignment with the other. I was so sad...
