Veo definitely prefers the day because it's generally warmer than nighttime. After all, the sun never comes out at night, so he doesn't have a nice warm spot to nap. Veo also prefers Summer because he gets to have longer days and longer naps in the sun.
Diem doesn't really prefer either day or night. The way he sees it, the daytime is full of day-activities and nighttime is full of night-activities. He's a busy body, so he won't get bored either way. The same goes for summer vs winter, Diem has just as much fun at the beach as he does prancing through snow.
I'm sure you saw this coming, but Veo likes warm colors. Veo just likes feeling warm and lazy in general.

Diem doesn't care if the colors are warm or cold as long as they are heavy and bright. While this is Diem's preference, he also has an appreciation for dull, mute colors because everything's just great to Diem.

Well hypothetically speaking, Veo would prefer the fork. It's no-nonsense- if you want your food just stab it.
Diem would prefer the spoon! It requires a certain level of skill to pick up some foods with spoons. And Diem is always up for the challenge!
Although so far Veo has been about warmth and the sun, his affinity is definitely more aligned with "Ying." The nature of "Ying" is darkness, the moon, but more importantly with reserved energy. While Veo may seem lazy because he literally naps all day, he is not hesitant when he needs to take action, and is actually quite mobile at night.
Diem is "Yang," the brightness of the sun and the boundless energy that comes with it. Diem is active and constantly spending energy to do this or that within the limited amount of time that is life.
Veo prefers cats. They're quiet and don't disturb him. They'd probably actually have a nice time cat napping together. Well actually Veo would prefer neither, he usually likes his solitude.
"D" for Diem and "D" for dog! Diems active personality would better suit an active pet that will go sprinting through life with him.
Veo prefers fantasy! Or at least I can only assume that with how much time he invests into sleeping and probably dreaming.
Diem prefers reality! He thinks that everything in the world around him is just A+ fantastic, so he doesn't need to think up his own imaginary would or get lost in someone else's.
