what do you think about people who name their character after their faceclaim/a fictional character/anyone that's well known?

I'm not a fan of it.

I use face claims to help me build a general mental picture of what they look like so I don't have to go overboard on description.
everything else is completely original and I do not like taking things from movies unless its a canon/close to canon rp.

Ugh, this is seriously annoying. I mean, I agree with thorrissia about common names like 'Bob' or 'Sarah'. There are tons of people called that, and really, what's a few more? But with more unusual names, it's just...ugh. Especially with animal roleplays. For instance, if I'm in a lion roleplay (non-TLK) and somebody joins with a character named Nala, then that's just annoying. -_-

basically, you have to write in a certain accent for at least a week.
i just really wanna try it because it sounds hard and i don't wanna do it alone ;w;

I just find it completely unoriginal and lazy to use names from the faceclaim -_-
I tend to mostly use faceclaims of famous actors/singers or something, and I never use their actual name in any sense, like I've seen some people who use a harry styles facelaim and call their character 'jason styles' or something [ that was a completely random name btw, not naming any names ] and I just find it a bit silly
I only really use the character's faceclaim as just a visual image of what they look like, but apart from that all the other things about the character is my own work and imagination. usuallu just a look at the character's face allows me to think up a name and personality that I personally think suits them, and if it is what they are really like or if the name resembles maybe one of the characters that they've played then it's a complete coincidence c:
anyway, that's my opinion.

@ opia; accent challenge sounds fun xp I would love south african or something but I have no clue how I'd write how they talk!

i have a character whose face-claim is louise brealey, who plays molly hooper in sherlock. i named the character molly as well, but only because it... fitted? idk, i couldn't think of a better name for her hhhhhhh orz

Also if you didn't see the rules in the original in FT, basically the only thing that has to be "real" is your personality. Everything about yourself can be made up (or withheld)
