Oh yeah, sorry about that. The demi-god thing was discussed over PM's by me and Commander.
She came up with some great ideas on Ancients and their children that I really liked!
And thank you to everyone about the ideas, I am glad to share the world of Eldemore with you guys and it has indeed been in making ever since I was a little girl. It's more fun to share it with others anyway and even better to be able to make runes for everyone. ^_^

Sounds like something I'd love to learn more about. Then again, I'm insatiable... Thank /you/ Benathorn for sharing your world with us, especially one that has been close to you for so long. Makes me feel more grateful to you for giving us a little piece of it and our own runes. ^^

Heh, yeah... the demi-god thing was actually my question from the other day, just... could Ancients do something like that? xD

I'm actually wanting to create a roleplay or something based on that notion (and hey, Ancient bearers might not even be required to play the kid, but could give permission to someone else to play the child), but I can't really come up with any real plot for it D:

Question I have is who had the kid. XD I always was curious what that question you had was... So if the fact is that kids are possible, how common is it? I imagine really really rare. Or do some people of Eldemore have a teeny bit of Ancient blood in them that sets them apart? From what I read and understand, the magic is the Ancients' and the Runes, not peoples' right?

Man, I always start thinking of all the technical little details of how bonds work and whatnot. x.x I need to get back on writing about global warming, but lost that train of thought when the internet died.

Yeah, if anyone's got any plot ideas, feel free to throw them out there! So far, the only thing that is really set is that it'd be some time after the war in the last rp-- I'd say 30 years, give or take. I'm still trying to come up with what my character would be like, because... yeah, Gabby and Nyarlathotep having a kid, how can I pass up the chance to play that?

As for who would have the child... well, I would assume they'd have to be... ah... compatible (unless Ancients can pull some kind of asari melding trick xD), so it'd be the female of the pair. And my guess is it'd be extremely rare-- after all, there's the fact that someone needs to bond with an Ancient, and if the relationship ever progressed to that point, and if the child were even viable because magic could screw things up...

ETA: And from what I understood in Benathorn's little infodump when I was making the first rp, humans are not naturally magical, but those who bond with a Rune (normal or Ancient) develop some minor skill with magic.

And I can see where your coming from. I like to think that the special thing about humans that Ancients crave so much is their soul. Humans are very social creatures in nature but what makes them truly unique, that Ancients seem to want, is their ability to have their souls be able to touch another so openly. Runes can not create bonds or pacts among themselves, it is only possible with a Rune Bearer or a Summoner. Humans are able to channel magic through them but not posses it naturally without the aid of a rune. They are an important part of Eldemore since the world itself is filled with magic and humans are the key to channeling that magic, sorta like a filter I guess. ^_^'

See, when I say all this I think it may sound really weird to you guys. If so, I am sorry and you can just disregard all this. This is just how I would view why people are so important to runes and ancients. Where as they hold magic, humans are the ones to channel it and filter it back out to the world itself, thus repeating the process and keeping life flowing in Eldemore.

As for some RP ideas, maybe the world is losing it's magic and so are the runes? Humans are becoming unable to channel it as they progress in technology and more humans are losing the ability to do so...idk just a thought really and it would still need to be fleshed out more.

So, if I'm correct...

Runes are like an electrical outlet (the energy source), and humans are the plug (that which directs the magic into tangible applications)? Ancients might be slightly exempt from this, considering their considerable power, but are never able to reach their full potential until they bond with a human?

As for plot... something like that could work, just... the magic going away? Even though pacts are still being made (with both Ancients and normal Runes), magic is just slowly dying off because it's simply not being used, and it's just a vicious cycle-- less magic means more reliance on technology, which means less magic, repeat ad infinitum.

Perhaps the children of the Ancients, or even their parents would be affected by this? And considering how entwined magic is into the world of Eldmore, it would wreak havok-- weather would be going weird, power sources might begin to just... stop, god only knows what else. Maybe the Ancients and their summoners sort of... withdrew from the world as the magic left (or, in the case of Blessed pacts, their summoner died? That would cause some oddities with ages, but then again, demi-gods, maybe those children don't age quite the same...) in order to save themselves...

Perhaps Rune dragons might even be starting to die off, just... natural casualties from all of this since there's less magic and many might be having trouble even surviving. So maybe the Ancient's children have to find one to bond with in order to revive their own magic and help bring things back in order?

Rocks are just misunderstood! Just got to get to know them a bit better. Except the metamorphic ones. I totally agree with you on that one.

Hmm... lots of things to consider, but you make me think about the whole bonding to an Ancient in a whole different light. Time differences makes me wonder where my character would technically be set in. But I guess she'd fit in anywhere, being the loner mercenary type character with a rune dragon like Sovereign and all. Don't want to live around groups of people with him around for long.

I feel like I need to be more familiar with the plot from the last RP and the world to really be able to throw a plot idea out there. Just getting used to how Ancients are... And I can picture it, Benathorn. Sort of an easier control through humans, or maybe not quite so explosive? And I was hinting more at the idea that if there are demi-gods/hybrids from Ancients, if they are also different in having magic without runes? Then again I picture a human baby, since the Ancients can... erm. Train of thought. *mumblemumble*

I like the idea of a loss of magic with advancing technology, post-war? Would war ever be completely gone from those rune bearers with non-rune bearers unless that sort of happens?

So many deep in-depth question you guys ask of me. I can certainly agree with what most you guys are saying and I like the idea you have Commander. ^^

I still don't want to necessarily discuss Ancients and how their children come to be on this thread. If you have more questions on this Skeseth you may PM so I can address your questions more accurately....ugh, I seriously need to make that thread with a huge codex explaining all this. XD
