Not that I actually know what DNS settings are...
Not like I really know how exactly it works, but I know how to use it.
A lot of youtube videos are blocked in germany, because the Gema (responsible for the rights of musician and quite the greedy organisation) doesn't allow the streaming of those songs for free. I have an app that makes it look like I'm from another country to youtube so I can watch those videos. It's easy to track most pc, by seeing which proxy they use. So there are programs to gain more anonymity - I think the basics are, that your pc doesn't directly requests a site, but the connection goes first to another or more proxy server in another country, making it harder to track it's location. There are those programs that just give you a proxy server from a random country, but you can also search for one in the USA, making a site believing you are in the USA (you have to find a working one though and it might slow down the internet speed, since the way becomes longer).
My explanation has probably many flaws, but you can google it, there are sites that explain exactly what you have to do.
Wow, that's... nerdy.
Not really, just some knowledge I picked up, during my several years online.
Since my explanation above has some flaws, here I try again:
In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers.
(from wikipedia)A simply way to use it, is for example to pick a proxy from this site
http://www.proxy4free.com/list/webproxy1.htmlIt helps if some sites are blocked in a country, sites are blocked in a school or just to increase anonymity.
Pick one of the USA proxys if you want to use Funimation.
Currently watching Children Who Chase Lost Voices on tv - looks very cool - and afterwards I can watch Mai Mai Miracle again (also a nice anime movie). (funny that I actually recognise one of the VA's)
