ok i'm really bored so i'm gonna throw in a question for you guys to answer because i love hearing different clique member's opinions.

i'm gonna answer my own question i'm gonna say march to the sea, addict with a pen, a car, a torch, a death, goner, and truce.

This might make it easier to reply. I'd have to say Before you start your day, Goner, Truce, the live version of Addict with a Pen from a long time ago and all of No Phun Intended songs if we are counting those.

addict with a pen live, and the part in car radio where tyler says 'i could pull the steering wheel', and for some reason guns for hands always gets me

In other news, at the MSG concert tonight we have learned new stuff. Michael (who has been apart of tøp since the very beginning) is leaving and tonight was his last show. When they played the old song medley, when kitchen sink was on, Zack actually came on stage and rapped his part. The truce project worked and Tyler got emotional, if you don't know what the truce project is, it is basically where right when Tyler and Josh step on stage after doing trees the crowd will start singing the song truce to tell Tyler to stay positive since he downs himself a lot also letting Tyler know that they did it and saved a lot of people. Tyler sang message man which people claimed who went to the show awesome. At the end Tyler said he is nobody (something like that) and dropped to the floor, many people believe he was talking about blurryface and how he overcame it for the time being.

im so glad the truce project worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish we had done that at my concert, truce is one of my (many) favorite songs, and it has a lot of meaning to me, and getting to sing back the song the boys gave us would have meant so much. im glad some of the clique got to do it for us all. maybe we'll make it a clique tradition. that'd be sicker than sick.
also, micheal leaving is such a strange thought to me because he has been at nearly every show, protecting ty and josh. tyler's known him since they were in, like, grade school. im gonna miss knowing he's there at shows, keeping the boys safe and sound.

trapdoor. for sure. that last line, where tyler goes, 'cause nobody knows he's alive.' and his voice cracks a little bit and he sounds so sad and broken... it gets me, every time. i also find a car a torch a death to be incredibly sad for a multitude of reasons, and those lyrics jsut shake me to my core. and in trees, the very first verse feels very sad. and friend please.

but, as an alternate question, i want to ask~ what pilots songs are the most happy/hopeful, lyrically, to you?

for me, the first one i think of is johnny boy, especially the 'get up johnny boy/get up johnny boy/get up cause the world has left you lying on the ground/you're my pride and joy/you're my pride and joy/ get up johnny boy because, we all need you now.' and once the people start singing along... that's prolly the most hopeful moment in any top song. march to the sea, altogether, is really hopeful to me even though each lyric separately is quite sad. lovely is probably the other song i would peg as just being incredibly happy and hopeful and positive.

Definitely Johnny Boy and Lovely. I know Friend Please and Oh Ms. Believer don't sound happy but they're lyrically hopeful! I think TB Saga, Guns for Hands, The Judge, Tear in my Heart and Ruby could be others. I dunno I'm trying really hard to think of some, most of their music (especially newer ones) sounds happy but the lyrics are sad.

something funny i've noticed is that whenever i ask that question of people in the clique, they're really split on lovely and friend please. like, some people say lovely is one of the songs that sounds happy but is actually really sad, and some people say it's a legitimately cheerful song. And the same with friend please, but reversed- half the people i know say it's hopeful but just sounds sad, and the other half say it is sad. that split applies to other songs too, im sure, but it's really interesting to me how such a similar community could have such polarized (hehe) opinions on a few specific songs.
to me, friend please is a less hopeful song, simply because it reminds me of people that i've lost and feel, lyrically, very similar to how to save a life by the fray. when i listen- really listen- to the lyrics, i connect them with regrets and things that i wish i would have said. lovely, to me, is a legitimately happy song, even though in all honesty it should read the same way friend please does. but it reads, to me, more as someone saying, 'we're gonna get through this together. you don't have to do anything but try, i'm here to help you and other people are here to help you too.' i dunno, just my opinion.

speaking of happy top songs, though, i'm gonna go ahead and stick a list of songs that (i think) have more positive themes that they've done/are off no phun intended, or goofier ones. just in case any of you are ever having the kind of day when you'd need such a list. (These are just off my happy top playlist- some of them may not actually be super positive, but the meaning i've given them is.)
