I know that. I have had my pup for over a year since he was 6 weeks old, I think I know his prey drive and how well trained he is by now. Especially since I trained him myself.

Sadies was just raising a good point. It is fine that you know and trained your dog, but at the end of the day, he is a dog... and they are "prey" to a dog. So I would be a lot more careful as accidents can and do happen...

Like I said my pup did amazing by stepping back then leaving my room when he could have easily reached up and bit Baze. Baze did amazing too, he wasn't even scared just curious.

I'm sorry if I upset you. I'm just concerned. I've seen dogs which have been the best behaved dogs ever suddenly flip in seconds. Instinct over-rides training.

I know that, it was a accident in the first place. I thought my door had shut but it didn't. My point is, I trust Baze not to jump off my shoulder when I have him hanging out there while I walk around the house or outside, and I trust my dog to not attack my rats if he happens to get in my room.

I know my animals and I know their tells for when they are getting excited and more likely to act out. My cat comes in my room all the time even when I have one of the rats out. I didn't intentionally let my dog get that close to the rat.

I can't wait for more baby ratties..

For now, I have two new youngins that've been introduced to the family. They'll be away from the colony for another week just to make sure they're fine (they're always good to go when I get them from my friend, but due to being on wood shavings they're a bit sneezy) and.. just. I'm in love.

Baylea is a black capped double rex top ear, and Kasidee is a rex pew top ear (I couldn't resist adding another pew to the family). Both will be used in my rex project. Have not decided whom they'll be bred to, buuut yeah. I got time to wait. Kasidee has agouti backgrounds so she should produce fawn <3

I am so over all the loses. All my old ratties are slowly giving into their age. I am currently having cuddles with my beautiful girl, Twi as we enjoy our final moments. I will miss my baby but she will be with her sister Lilly, who passed away 2 nights ago in my lap. These guys were nearing on 3 years with only about 6 weeks til their birthday(3rd of April). As Twi licks my fingers slowly I wish there was something I could do to either make her younger or make Rats Lives longer. Ive had Twi and Lily since birth and hand raised them from 10 days old due to their mother rejecting them. I have a close bond to my girls. Ive Inked both paw prints.

Lily was cremated and in a jar by my bed, Twi will be put in with her so the two are together forever. I cant stop crying as I just pat my little baby. Vets around her wont put her down due to being retards about putting them to sleep so my baby has to just suffer although she is on a pain med thats helping(Lease they could do that the useless....). I hate austalia. I managed to talk the place that cremate animals to do them despite not wanting to.

Well with the lose of Lily, Twi and two of my older boys comes the introduction of two new babies, Minty and Mocha. two beautiful 6 month old girls. I will post photos soon, just busy at the moment with Twi.

{Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your losses ;n; It's good that you had that special bond with your girls, and that you get to spend the last moments with Twi. It doesn't make it any easier to let go, though, I know. It's been almost four weeks since Remy left me, and it's not getting any easier for me to accept that he is really gone. It only helps to know that he isn't suffering any more. It's tough for Bowser as well, but I'm glad he has accepted Elvis. Those two are so funny...this morning I woke up to find Bowser's head pinned down under Elvis. Bowser is so gentle and patient with Elvis, even when the little guy is so hyper and playful with him...it makes me feel bad for poor Bowser that he has to put up with it xD}
{I tried that suggestion with the water a few days ago. I was cleaning out the cage, so I eventually just put a little warm water in the...basin, I suppose. Just enough to cover the ratters' paws. Bowser is still extremely stubborn...he was okay for a little while, though I could tell he hated it. Elvis doesn't mind it too much, but he didn't stay in the water for long, either. Ah well. They both got the needed bath, squeaky Bowser and all. They were both so soft and fluffy once I dried them off ewe}

Well I ended up having to stop my cuddles as I began to fall asleep. Well I woke up this morning to her hanging upside down on her cage roof full of energy. My baby girl doesn't wanna go without a fight. So I now have her on my shoulder while she licks my ear like she use to always do. <3

I think I might be lucky we didn't get her put to sleep as she is back to being herself. Still giving her the pain meds as the vet said to do so I hope they are helping and she isn't in pain.


Well haven't gotten my new girls yet but I know they are coming at some stage. Also have finally put my name down for a baby from a breeder. She is soooo cute. Beautiful Black Bareback with a head spot/stripe. The thing is, she is almost identical to Twilight, which is why I think I like her so much. When twi goes I'll never be able to replace her but I love her markings, simple and pretty.
