Daily Dinosaur Fact #48: By far the largest Theropod known, Spinosaurus is highly unusual. It is almost like a mix of different animals with the snout of a Crocodile, the body of a Theropod, the feet of a duck, the back of a Dimetrodon and the tail of a salamander or tadpole.

One of my faves that’s for sure! 🦖
I find it such a unique animal! Though I do prefer the later Tyrannosaurs like Tyrannosaurus and Tarbosaurus.

Daily Dinosaur Fact #49: Allosaurus had an extremely weak bite force for its size, in fact, it was weaker than a Lion's. However, the stress its head could take is far greater. It could also open its jaw extremely wide, meaning it probably swung its head down onto its prey like a hatchet, rather than biting.

Daily Dinosaur Fact #50: Tyrannosaurus had the strongest bite force of any land animal, in fact, strong enough to bite through a tank. Yet even this pails in comparison to the biteforce the giant shark Megalodon has.

Daily Dinosaur Fact #51: While Ceratopsians almost certainly used their horns for defence and fighting amongst one another, their frills were far too fragile to defend. The most likely explanation for the frills is that they made the dinosaur look bigger than it was to intimidate rivals and predators. It is also possible that brightly coloured skin covered the frills, adding to the display effect.
