Basically, whenever the characters fall asleep they end up in this garden that would be almost Alice in Wonderland kind of style. [in other words things are a little bit odd and the rules of physics sometimes get bent ] This dream world acts almost as a kind of safe haven for the characters from the rest of reality and they can interact with each other there. They would essentially be living two lives at once. However, all of the people they meet in the dream they believe to not be real... until they bump into each other from real life. Obviously it won't be as simple as them finding out that they are all dreaming together. Now freed of their real life troubles, the characters take to exploring the dream world more and more, but the more they discover, the darker the reality of the dream is. They figure out pretty quick that death or injury in the dream means the same in reality. With things becoming more sinister in their safe haven, bad stuff starts happening to them in real life and it soon becomes apparent there is much more at play than a simple shared dreaming phenomenon...

      ouo so i've been thinking, and i think i've come up with an interesting concept for a roleplay?

      basically the roleplay would revolve around modern-day witches and their familiars. the familiars in the roleplay would be able to shift between human form, and that of the animal their personalities most resemble. now, as the familiar would need to go through the human world as an animal occasionally, since they can sense more in that form, there wouldn't be any animals such as tigers, lions, bears, etc. in fact, i may even make this a small group roleplay, with pre-determined characters [just a simple bio, ya'll would get to choose face-claims, etc] anyhow. the witches would eventually meet up, and there will be some kind of conflict [though i haven't figured that part out yet] and they would meet their familiars, yada yada. vuv if anyone is interested, or even wants to help me come up with ideas, that'd be swell ouo;

    woo I'm like swarming with ideas I wish more of my partners were on

    I have a couple small group/one x one ideas if anyone wants to pm me?

    also, anyone have a historical roleplay? if not I was thinking of making one.
I don't check messages here. If you've found me through other websites or communities such as deviantART/Kiamaras, my characters are not for sale and never will be.

I do have a historical rp that needs one more person. It is about what had happened in Brittany in 1486. Where the duchess Anne was forced into an arrange marriage with a man named d'Albret. Also the French is trying to take her duchy and take Brittany for themselves, forcing their own religion on them.
Assassin and knights come to aid the duchess, but are out numbered by the men at arms the French has. It is also a romance, and based on a series of books as well. Some of it isn't historically correct, but the young duchess Anne was a real person, she did get into am arranged marriage with d'Albret, and the French did try to take her duchy way from here.
So yeah.....that is open. (:

Code: Select all
[b]“How much description is overdescription?”[/b]

I’ve seen too many role-players dish out things like “She has green eyes with a ring of darker green around them.” [wording simplified to ward off headaches] in their forms, or how a character’s hair changes color with the seasons.

Cute, but not relevant in the least. My character won’t be checking out another character’s eyes close enough to see that dark green ring [except in some, extreme circumstances]. We classify eyes as brown or green or even grey, but who ever makes a note of the "floating flecks" of light blue in a characters’s eyes? Would your character do it? Usually, people don't remember the character for their appearance as much as they remember them for their actions and the effect this character has on the world around them. I think that descriptors like these are good for personal reference [I love detailing my forms, even if it’s just mentioning the tiny, irrelevant scars the character has], but I think it’s best to leave out those little details in RP applications [I don’t care for them in books either, tbh.]
