Sooo who here has the new tracking feature? A subset of users get to test it out. I have it, and I'm going to try it out in town today. It looks great! Pokemon spawn within the radius' of Pokestops, and if you click on the Pokemon on the Sightings list, it shows you where it is on the map!

I have it too! I hope it actually works. To add on to this, Pokemon still spawn all over, but if they are near a Pokestop, it will show you where. If it isn't near a pokestop, it will show you tall grass behind the pokemon, meaning it is in the "wild"

I just updated it myself and it looks a lot better and nicer to look at then just pokemon nearby and nothing
Though I had to delete an app to install it, won't be missed though because it was an app that came with the phone and I didn't use it.

This was from a few pages back, but I wanted to point out that someone can't take a Pokemon from you in this game

If a Pokemon spawns for you, it has spawned for everyone nearby, and it stays there for a few minutes regardless of whether others around you have caught the same pokemon first.

My best friend and I always go to our favorite chicken wing restaurant which has a pokestop in it that always spawns Magikarp. While we're eating we are constantly calling out to each other, "ANOTHER MAGIKARP!" And catching the same Pokemon at the same time. Although CP will always be different. Even if someone shouts HEY A LICKITUNG NEARBY or whatever and everyone flocks over, every person will have a different Lickitung, but they will all have a Lickitung at the spawn place. So it seems that my Magikarp are alwayd like 50 CP while hers are like 150 CP. Grrrr... I'm halfway to a Gyarados though thanks to my delicious chicken wings hahahha

That would actually make a cool PokemonGo competition in a community. Get a bunch of people thogether and when a Pokemon spawns, you all have to catch that Pokemon. Have 3-5 rounds or so of this. Whoever has the highest total CP of the pokemon you were supposed to catch (add up the CP) get a small prize. (Though this is purely luck based.)

That sounds cool, but the only thing showing on my nearby is a pokemon with grass next to it? But its not letting me click them so i dont think i get to test it lol

I was in downtown and there was a gym that was open, so I grabbed it with my vaporeon. An instinct kid (I think i saw him) grabbed it from me, though, and then a valor kid took it from us. We both looked defeated....

You do c: the grass means that the pokemon is in the "wild", instead of being near a pokestop. If you were jear one, then you would get the pictures c:

I haven't had the opportunity to test out the new tracking feature, but it sounds pretty cool! It automatically updated on my phone. People on here seem to be happy with it, so I'm excited to try it out!
