the viscet community is running so slow and, for the first time in forever, I am itching for an impress me. I know the running abandoned batch is an "add as many extras as you want", but I have a great idea and nergggg.

Not hate towards the artists, tho. You guys are trying your hardest and that's the best you can be. <3

Along with that, I have a question.

Cameron was grown quickly with a growth potion and I got her the day she was made. What day would I start the 30 day period?

And, one question for the bunch!

I'm so tired of seeing others trying to guilt the winner after a competition ends. Like, I'm incredibly sick of it. We all want to win, you know? We all put in effort, and we all cling to this hope that maybe the judge will like our form best. Sometimes, they do, and that's great! We anxiously click on the thread to see who won and when we see out username, we're so excited! Maybe we had school or work that day and others saw it first so naturally we look through the comments. There are a lot of "congratulations!" and things along those lines, but we can't help but notice the less positive ones as well: "congrats..." "oh. congrats i guess." "i really wanted to win. oh well, congrats i guess." Disappointment is inevitable, but there's no reason to make someone feel bad for winning a pixel. We are behind screens- is it really that hard to fake enthusiasm? And if you just really can't bring yourself to do it, just don't say anything at all. I see this a lot in this rather supportive community, and it really bothers me. Do you guys agree? Am I being too harsh? Idk.

I actually agree with this since it also affects us judges you know? We can´t make everyone happy, we can´t make everyone a winner and believe me...I wish I could, there are many forms that I would like to choose for a winner but that´s not how it works.
And remember...its just pixels, there will be many more Viscets in the future you can try out for and each time you will surely improve in your forms, its just a matter of putting all your effort into the form and accepting that maybe it wasnt for you, but there will be others so dont get so upset over loosing and be happy for the winner...maybe they have also been trying over and over again for Viscets and they finally won, you never know.

I believe it would've started to the day you owned her, as the rule states "OWN for 30 days before finding a mate". And since Cameron was an adult the moment she was made, that started right when you got her. Seeing as you've owned Cameron since March 16th, you've owned her for 20 days. She will be ready to breed April 15th. Hope this helped : )

Honestly I don't care about breeding that much so no, I do not bother to keep track of cooldowns and wait periods. I do keep some stuff for comps though including story ideas, basic coding and anything else I deem useful.

@Sueez: I think I like the fact that the adopts are running "slow", there was a time when they were so fast it was crazy .-. so this gives more time for users to actually work on their forms and it also doesnt interfere with real life stuff such as school. Maybe when vacations start there will be more Adopts and stuff.

@captain-mongoose I dislike being a devil's advocate, but... Eh? I mean, no one likes a sore loser, but you have to remember no one likes being the sore loser either. To be completely blunt, a fair amount of contests are based on a bias, but that's what I personally adore about the comps. ;w; Being outstanding enough to appeal to that bias or even exceed it. Again, if you fall short, there are other opportunities. The feeling of disappointment for me is kinda a vicious motivator, but that's just me. This only applies before my innate laziness kicks in haha welp I'm under the impression that it differs for everyone...? 'Sides, that's what raffles and fcfs are for and whatnot.

I have done something similar with FR to keep track of genes I wanted and that lasted a grand total of three hours so you can see where I'm going with this hah- I can make stuff, sure. Maintain it? Not in this plane of existence.

I'm just gonna come out and say this- Soulsplosion's organization system for the threads is miraculous in its efficiency. While not perfect, it's so well done? Either their mind is a steel trap or they're just that good because they manage most if not all the threads... -3- This is what I'm seeing personally.

@LOCW I'm slowly getting worse as traditional stuff so the cleanness of those lines make me swoon. ;w; At this moment in time, I couldn't even begin to emulate it. Beautiful art<3

What would you guys say to me opening up a Viscet color-in for 150 points on dA? I need the practice for coloring in, but there wouldn't be any lineart edits for the moment. The lineart should be on my dA, which features my purple Viscet, Anais. Still need to prep the lines to make them more neutral, however, like not geared towards any specific holiday.

@Captain-mongoose- I agree, I might have done it accidently, without me knowing it was a guilt trip. I'm not posting the viscet, but someone wrote "Oh well, I didn't win. I'll guess I will have try again (even though I'll never get one). It makes me sad, but a slight but annoyed.

@Dissolve- It gives artist chance to work better than being rushed..x3 I think

@CaptainMon ~I wholeheartedly agree with this...The very first viscet I won I remember someone saying something like "Whelp, bye bye dreamie..." I'd never done the whole...adopts thing before and starting off I was happy, but when I read that it bothered me so much that I thought about just giving it up and not doing it anymore. But, in the end, I decided to stick with it. I am sure I've accidentally said something (Actually I know I have, and I really apologize for it.) Sometimes we just don't realize what exactly we are doing. Something even along the lines of "Man, I am still sore over (Insert number here). I really wanted it!" Can cause the winner to feel bad. There is absolutely no way to stop this, sadly, as more and more people will try out, so not everyone will see this, what you said, or even consider that their words may be harmful in some way or another.

I understand what Apricus means, and to a degree it's right. You (We/I/everyone) may have poured your very soul into a form, but that doesn't mean that others didn't do the same thing. Sure, you worked hard, did your best, paid for as much art as you could afford, got the best coder ever...Like Apricus said, there may be a small biase there that caused someone to lean more towards anothers form. Maybe they like fantasy more than modern, maybe they like realism, or maybe a dramatic story..maybe they liked your artwork, maybe it was adorable. There are so many things to think of.

As was said, it doesn't just affect those who are trying out, but the judges too. I have come to like certain judges more than others, based solely on the fact that....once it is over, they attempt to comment on all the forms that were entered. I adored this when I first saw it because...for one...it mentions everyone...and the notes don't always have to be flowers and rainbows. It could simply mention how the story was good but they should have gone a little deeper into it...how the artwork was good but it would have been better if it had something to do with the story....or something similar to those.

We all have our moments of disappointment, we all have to learn to deal with it. But sadly, there will always be those sore loosers that we have to deal with as well. That is life. As badly as it makes some people feel (Me included), we will have to find a way to get over it. I don't support it, or agree with it...I just feel like there really isn't much we can do about it. Even if you created rules and gave heads up, and made warnings...there'd be a constant battle against it, ya know?


@ Squeeze I thought it was running a bit slow, too, considering when I first started I could barely keep up with what was going on!...Haha. I kind of like it like this since I can actually -see- what viscets come out before they are covered up by new ones. But I understand what you're sayin'! Why not prepare your idea? Instead of waiting? You could get the basics down somewhere and work on it as you go. Then you'd have a head start and be able to use it for that perfect one you find!


I'm only answering these with Danika and Loa.

What is your Viscet's biggest fear?

Danika~ She has nightmares all the time of everyone yelling at her. She can't stand anger being directed towards her, and if someone approached her in a hateful manner she would probably just break down...

Loa~ Loa is fairly superstitious. He can deal with anything living...but the dead...and bad spirits...terrify him. He wears a charm against posession at all times. He has a terribly fear that he will be possessed and driven into the water to drown or be eaten by crocs.
