The reason why several artists would quit was because they wouldn't feel comfortable at all using the new lineart for designing. I for example can assure you I wouldn't be able to pull off any designs in it given how unpractical it feels to me... nobody would be ragequitting, they simply would be leaving because they are literally uncapable of making proper designs for the species, and thus staying in the team makes no sense.
And to have this announcement shoved out of the blue at not only the community, but the artist team as well, was to say the least impacting. Nobody saw this coming neither was asked for feedback about this, and a change in this species this
drastic would never have been taken lightly. In fact, it's actually really, really stressful instead. Nobody gave the artist team or the community time to warm up to the mere idea of a new lineart, let alone a whole finished thing.
I know Pachoo spent a long time and effort in that lineart, but maybe she could have just sketched a couple samples and showed the community for feedback first? This would have saved us all a lot of stress.
I don't mean to sound rude or harsh, I'm just trying to make you understand everybody's point of view here.
Edit:And just a final note, I know Pachoo is the owner and is free to handle her species in any way she wants. However, a change of this kind doesn't involve only her, but the entire artist team as well. We should have been taken in consideration before this whole thing was done, because we are the ones who make the adoptables in the first place and thus contribute greatly for this species's development. We do this for fun, we do this because we love designing, and by shoving a lineart at us with no warning and expecting everybody to be fine with it just because the owner is, you're stealing the fun of those who are not comfortable with the change and never got to express their opinion about it in the first place.
And, indeed, she could hire new, willing artists for this new lineart if she wanted, they would be much more adapted to them to make good designs. But do not blame the current artists for "quitting" the team, because if they didn't they would have to struggle all the time to be productive in a lineart not fit at all for them... and thus what used to be a fun hobbie would then become nothing but a stressful chore. So yes, people are expected to leave in such situation.
