Oh, I... wouldn't recommend that lol.
I watched the anime long ago and it's basically the same thing as thh but very rushed. And the animation is mediocre at best. The ending song is good though lol.
I hope you enjoy sdr2! it's my favorite one

I watched the anime long ago and it's basically the same thing as thh but very rushed. And the animation is mediocre at best. The ending song is good though lol.

I mean, I think the anime is a decent recap for the series! As long as it's not the thing you're experiencing first, since that should definitely be the game, for the reasons listed above ^

As rushed as it is, it's still entertaining for once you've finished the series.

Unfortunately it completed butchers Chihiro's character arc :/ Where in the game, Chihiro's story is about strict Japanese gender roles, the anime definitely seems to be a disrespectful portrayal of a transwoman, and I think Monokuma even calls him some transphobic slurs. Kinda sucks, considering the fact that canon game Chihiro says he's a (cisgender) boy but he crossdresses to avoid bullying (he specifically says this about himself in his school mode ending)

The rest of what's not good about the animation can be chalked up to not having enough time to properly develop the plot.

still worth a watch imo, as long as it's after you've finished the game proper

i also would like to wholeheartedly recommend Danganronpa Abridged Thing by faulerro (you can find reuploads on youtube). I'm pretty sure that the reason the english dub of the anime is such a disaster is because they were trying to capitalize off faulerro's comedic genius

1. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
2. Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
3. Danganronpa/Zero [this is a light novel, and it's technically optional but it's good for lore]
4. Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls
5. Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High (watch alternating episodes. ep1 of Future Arc, ep1 of Despair Arc, ep2 of Future, ep2 of Despair, etc etc until you finish with ep12 of Future Arc (there's no episode 12 of Despair Arc))
6. Super Danganronpa 2.5: Nagito Komaeda and the World Destroyer [OVA, technically optional but still good and explains stuff that happens in Hope Arc]
7. Danganronpa 3, Hope Arc
8. New Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

there's also tons of other supplemental stuff like the comic anthologies, DR: IF, DR: Ultra Despair Hagakure, DR: Togami, DR: Kirigiri, DR: Killer Killer, etc etc
