Elanor sighed, her footsteps sounding on Aenar Palace's marble halls. Her dark eyebrows, darker than her hazel coloured hair, were united in a worried expression. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, yet many locks hung off framing her face. Her stormy-gray eyes glinted in the dimly lit corridors. It was only dawn's break, but she had to be awoken now. It's not everyday you make 18 years, and Elanor's training to be a Ranger would finally come to an end.
Elanor's posture was tense, but she had, behind the dully determined face, some frail aura or feeling And that was what she fought. She wanted all to see she was not weaker than the others. She wanted to follow only her will... freedom.
A new begin.
The door creaked as she swung it open. ''Master'' she said solemnly, not a hint of emotion showing up on her face. ''I have come.''
A middle aged elf got up. His silvery gown floating on with the breeze that ran by the open windows. ''We were all awaiting your arrival, Elanor-lan.'' He said, using the honorific suffix used to distinguish young leaders. Elanor bowed only slightly, as her master placed a silver tiara, made of three simple strands of metal incrustated with seven small diamonds each.
''Look up, Elanor-lan. Now you are a Ranger of Aenar.''
So did Elanor, and now all the tension on her face was gone. I did it, she thought to herself, now I am free. But something made her hesitate. Some sadness that wasn't hers, but she couldn't ignore. ''Oh no... not tuning in again...'' She tried to fight, to resist the numbness that was taking her control. But it was too strong. All she wanted was to burst into tears, not her own tears, but that wouldn't seem much appropriate for a new Ranger. The world blurred around her, and with a thud she fainted and fell to the ground.
