- personally, as an artist, I go with what people ask me to do. I haven't heard any indication other than this that the ceiral designs coming out are too complicated, so I haven't made any move to change it.
I understand why complicated designs might be irksome to people wanting to enter, but since a large amount of the competitions have, in fact, not required art, I don't see why this is a problem. just my opinion.

Make a drop-dead gorgeous design and do an advertisement raffle. I did one and the species exploded! Just have them stick a banner or stamp of Ceirals in the sig and post in a thread every day they have it. If you'd like, offer a custom, but that's not necessary. Advertising it this way, people will be joining the species because they like the designs/species. Sure, it's bribery, but it's bribing with the actual species and not anything else.
- this seems like a pretty good idea to me. maybe it could be included in a future event?
