It's the start of a new year, and what better what to start it out than to announce a mateship! <3
Lot's of people already know about these boyos, since Aaron and I love them to death, but we decided it should be official!
Kitsunebi and Osier are now officially mates!
by the beautiful and talented TigressaAaron and I have been doing a short roleplay, but we've been headcannoning with these boys for a little while, and I have to say they're super fun to draw together. ^^
They're both dorks, and they totally belong together.
I don't have anything from the roleplay to share, but you can have this little story I wrote about them!
Kitsunebi does origami to keep his hands busy.
After they start dating, Osier finds little folded paper statues all around his apartment. They come in sizes ranging from tiny to regular, and the paper Kit uses is always beautiful. He's never seen the same one twice, paper design or shape. His favorites are the bug ones. The purple butterfly with smoky swirls or the grasshopper made of paper printed to look like actual grass. Usually he finds them when Kit isn't around. The man leaves them behind during the day, tucked on a bookshelf, in the branches of one of his trees. Once he found one in a pot under the cabinets.
It's sort of a game. He never knows when or where he'll find a paper creature. He sometimes goes looking for them after Kit leaves. He doesn't know what to do with them, so he tucks them neatly away inside a shoe box that be keeps under his bed.
One day he catches his boyfriend actually making one. He's got a square sheet of paper, white side up, and a marker in his hand. Before Osier can see what he's doing, the fox blocks the paper with his arm and gives the other man an innocent smile.
When Kit goes home, Ossi finds a giraffe behind the toaster.
He doesn't want to ruin the small creature, but curious about what Kitsunebi had been doing with the marker, he carefully unfolds it. Scrawled across the inside of the folded paper are words.
"You look really beautiful today."
He blinks and goes to sit on his hammock, pulling out the shoebox. He pulls out each animal and holds them up to the light. Sure enough, each one has words on the inside. He can't make them out because of the creases, so he unfolds all of them.
"I stole one of your chokers and wore it to work today."
"I love how you smell when you come from work."
"I heard you singing in the shower this morning. Your voice is really nice."
He reads each one, message after message that Kit has been leaving for him for weeks. Some make him laugh, and some make him blush. He can hear Kit's voice in every hastily written word.
Once he's gone through them all, he gets an idea. Grabbing his phone, he quickly does a search, and gathers supplies. On the inside of an orange square, he takes a sharpie and writes a message. He follows the instructions online, and when he's finished, the origami fox isn't bad for a first try. He smiles, and leaves it on the counter for Kitsunebi to find.
Inside it reads, “I love you.”
I'm super happy about them, because they're really perfect. I was insanely nervous when suggesting we ship them, but Aaronzee has been an amazing partner. He's really fun to talk to, and headcannoning is always a blast, because he's very good at give and take, so it's never one sided.
I'm really glad Kit found such a wonderful guy.
And I'm even more glad Aaron and I became friends.
