And ban I think that's a pretty good idea, for those who all want to have a shot at an artist or get their designs out there if they don't post much equid art.

Instead of a contest that decided people who for sure become artists, maybe just a little design playground type thing. A editable topic where people can post their designs (probably needing a limit) and just have them there to let whoever decides guest artists/etc "hey I can do this and I'm interested so consider it". Horsy doesn't have to decide anything from but it gives a chance for improved artists or those who weren't around for the artist contest to show off their designing skills.

Yes I totally agree! This is actually what I had in mind when I commeneted on this subject, kind of an on-going chill thing. Ty for putting it into words!

Doge, I and I'm sure everyone else fully appreciate all of our current artists! Not trying to make insignificant their hard work in any way, just musing ^^ Keep up the good work guys!

I love all our artists, my idea isn't for cycling out the old and in with the new. It would be more for guest artist decisions. I'd hate to see any current artists leave or get phased out, so just tacking on that is not the intention with my idea

What about a sort of 'design contest'? Something like the artist contest, only for individual designs. The best designs(top ten maybe), approved by Horsy of course, would then be turned into official adopts by the artists, with credit given to the design's creator. Maybe the original designer could even have some input as to contest type. So basically, just a fun little thing where no new artists are hired, but other people can submit their ideas with a chance that they become official.

Again, I am NOT campaigning for something like this to happen! But if people really want a chance to design Equids, but we cannot hire more artists, perhaps this is a different way to go!

Doge brought it up because I was expressing somethings in a stream. I'm sure no one meant it this way, but it kinda felt like you guys were all for opening a contest and getting a bunch of brand new shiny artists and it kinda hit my like "oh well I guess they don't think I am doing a good enough job anymore. Our designs aren't good enough so yea, time for new ones" Kinda time to head out to pasture I guess. I'm glad to see new faces and stuff, but just the way it was being worded kinda seemed like you guys would rather just have new artists. We work really hard for you guys so it kinda hurt a bit to see that you guys were bringing it up so much over the last bit in streams and such.

I think people just get excited about new artists because it means a whole new spin on equids. It's like how everyone makes a sandwich differently. Everyone has different taste in them, and it's always cool to try new ones. But that doesn't mean you're gonna just chuck your old favourite.

I know I got a little carried away talking about a possible contest, but that's because I've always wanted the chance to design wme's, not because I didn't like the ones already being designed! I never wanted anyone to feel unappreciated by my overzealousness to join the ranks of wme artists, and I'm sorry if any of my comments made you feel that way

Like Fly and preppy said, no artist is alike! Each artist has their own unique style that we all love, but just imagine what other ideas are out there for the 'quids! It's a big world and there's so much to be seen, plus it takes a little pressure off of you guys when there's a little more help :3 We love you all and all that you do for us <3
