When you hear on the news a local dog fighting ring has been busted I bet the first breed of dog that comes to your mind is "Pit bull." A lot of people do... Sadly the American Bull Terrier (Pit) gets a lot of the bad rap, but there are a bunch of dog breeds used in the ring. Like the Rottweiler, English Mastiff, Akita, German Sheperd, Dogue de Bordeaux, and the list goes on. They get punished for the fault of some sick person's entertainment. Some targeted more then others as a bad breed. Many misunderstood breeds judge majority by ignorant people. We must give the ones that can not speak a voice. Will you spread the word? Open the eyes who do not know any better? Will you stand and fight for those forced to fight against their will?

• | To warm up the dog to fight they put it in the ring with another dog
xxxthat can't fight back and they call these dogs "bait dogs."
• | Bait dogs are normally stolen or stray dogs they pick up off the streets
xxxleft unguarded.
• | Pit Bulls are commonly used as therapy dogs.
• | Pit bulls were famous for being the "Nanny Dog." Due to being great

• | The ASPCA designated April 8 as National Dog Fighting Awareness Day
xxx(NDFAD).
• | All 50 states now consider participating in dog fighting to be a felony
