Squishmallow Squad!

I actually haven't really seen any of the "rare" ones around, even when I happen to be around the day a new set is put out in stores. I did see one of the rare Fuzz-A-Mallows, but it was a horse or a unicorn or something like that, one of the unpopular species, so there were a ton of them left lol. It actually seems like the hype for Squishmallows has really died down, at least where I live. I've seen them around much more often in the past year or so, even the more sought after species like the cows and axolotls and such. I wonder if a major factor in that is the fact that they've gotten more expensive lately as well. The 16" ones are $30 and up nowadays, and I bought a 12" sugar glider the other day for $15, but that was with my Kroger card. Without the discount from the card, the 12" were $30 and the 16" were $40+! I mean I know inflation is getting bad, but this feels like more than just inflation.

gosh yes they can get so expensive! most of mine are from target and they're still reasonably priced there, but holy cow the ones from hallmark/hot topic/box lunch. sheesh. spent $50 on two 8" squish from boxlunch once,,,

Hi all! Long time, no post.

In my last post (?) I said I was falling out of the hobby due to not having much room, but since then I've done a purge and have only limited myself to buying 8 inch and under squish. I did break my rule though - my workplace got in a 12 inch Joelle with flower and I couldn't pass her up.

I've added a lot to my collection since my last post. Off the top of my head:
- Hoot, Joelle with flower, Mary x2 (I bought one and then was sent one as a gift from an internet friend), Gary, Junie, Lune, a dragon that I cannot recall the name of rn - all clips.
- Junie, Aldous, Womina, Archie, Bethuna (last 3 are blacklight squad), Veronica (yay!), Tito, Obu, Amelie - all 8 inches.
- Gala, Babs, Priya, Raylor - 5 inches.
- Joelle with flower, Eiko - both 12 inches (Eiko was my partners purchase so I don't count this as breaking my own rule, even though we live together).

There's definitely more but that's all I can recall!

I picked up my Junie a few days ago at my local Target before work, and got the clip maybe a week before hand from work. I've never been a huge fan of the food squish, but there's something about Junie that I couldn't say no to. I've noticed this has happened to a LOT of people too - my FYP on tiktok is full of people from America and Canada trying to track Junie down with no luck. My (Australian) Target had probably 6-7 boxes of the squad (which is a LOT of stock for Aus) so there was no trouble for me, thankfully.

This is also the first concurrent release of a squad I've noticed between Australia and America! Usually we get a painfully limited amount of releases that are months behind other countries and aren't usually that exciting (e.g. we usually only see 1 holiday squad , and it's usuallt 12 inches and boring). But, this has sparked my hope we will get similar or closer release times to our American counterparts in the future. ^^
