Walking back to camp after the gathering you hear a strange noise behind you. It's a rumbling sort of noise, with metallic chinking noises coming from close to the ground. You turn around to see what's causing the noise.
xxxxYou've never seen anything like it before.
xxxxIt's a strange square-looking thing, made from some shiny material, about twice cat-height, with little round things attached on either side, going forward, and several other similar things behind, and, on top of the first carriage, was a two-leg, and, sitting proudly on top of the two-leg's legs, a strangely attired molly.
xxxxFurther back, there were more two-legs, sitting astride the trailing thing, all ages and appearances.
xxxxThe trailing thing made a loud noise, and the cat on the front piped out, yelling happily;
xxxx"Toot toot!"
xxxxShe grins widely.
xxxxThe trailing thing seems to be running along in a very specific path, going forward, along two wooden lines. You hadn't even noticed you were stepping on them, but seeing the thing approaching, it's obvious this is a bad place to be, so you take the opportunity to get out of the way.
xxxx"Do you want to join us? She looks down at you. "We're going on a journey!"
xxxxYou decide to trot alongside. It's not going much beyond a very casual trot in speed, and it's easy to end up trotting alongside. The human can't move to hurt you, pinned as he is by that molly, so you figure it's safe.
xxxx"Is that thing safe? Where are you going?"
xxxx"Yeah! It's real safe! It's a train and train's are the best. I made this one." That.... doesn't sound entirely plausible, but that doubt is quickly knocked out of your mind; "We're going to cross the ocean on it!"
xxxx"How are you going to ride that train across a whole sea?"
xxxxShe shuffles happily, purring, clearly proud of her idea. "We're going to build a bridge across the whole sea and then we can ride there!"
xxxxThat doesn't help at all. Actually, thinking about it... isn't this path curving? Looking ahead, it seems to loop around in just one big circle, back past a little wooden overhang, round and between several trees, under a little bridge, and back to where you first saw the train. It doesn't really seem like you're going on a journey at all...
xxxx"Do you want to join us? We're going to get across the ocean as soon as I've made the train bridge across it! We could even make multiple train bridges to get to different places on each side! I just need to make sure it's appropriate for every type of train that anycat might want to take across there! There's a whole other continent over there, and there have to be loads of different types of trains there that cats might want to see come over here. Have you seen any types of trains that might work?"

Duke rolled his eyes at one of the other rogues before licking his paw and drawing it over his ear. Unlike the other rogue cats, Duke seemed to have no interest in the Clan cats. It seems like he'll be a harder tom to catch.

King trotted close behind Duke and the others, his blue gaze quickly darting between the different Clan cats as they observed them. While he had heard from his companions about how friendly the Clan cats were, he was still unsure and nervous of them. Who would want to live in such large groups anyway?

Unusually, for so many of these stud cats, this one is en route to the gathering.
xxxxHe's visible from a very long way ahead, in some sense, although he's hardly obvious. His fur is a strange sort of greyish-brown tone, so that it blends in neatly with the rocks he's perched atop of; and yet, there, in the middle of a large grassy plain, it's hard not to spot the little movements of his ears and tail.
xxxxIt's a strange pelt colour, and strange how none of him catches the wind at all.
xxxxOne time, many years ago, a clan cat broke into a building that many two legs were visiting, and had mentioned how they had flat images in a greyish-brown tone, and how many of the figures in them had red eyes. He fits this exactly. For a moment you wonder if those were merely the effects of the medium used in the drawings by two-legs that the elders had claimed, or whether they were some sort of trapped entities from another realm, and this cat was one of a scant number of escapees.
xxxxHe's scanning the landscape slowly with his eyes, almost completely still bar from the gentle twitches of his ears and tail, so you're well out into the grassy plain before his eyes settle on you.
xxxx"Hallo. I am Zahn." He says, in an accented voice. The accent itself feels quite firm already, but the voice is gentle. "Could you help checking somezing out for me?" He beckons you over, and while it would be very possible to just leave, you decide not to. Some mysterious force - perhaps Starclan? - compels you to do as he asks.
xxxxYou tread through the grass over to him and his rock-pile, and jump up beside him.
xxxxWhat you see is almost more confusing than his pelt colour. He has some strange square-leaf thing, white as snow, and what look like sticks but various colours. There are colourful markings drawn out very messily on the square-leaf thing.
xxxx"I am trying to design somezing, but I don't know if it will work. I zink it would. It would be a device for making an image be frozen in time forever, to help cats remember it. I zink it should work, but I need some help testing it. If you wouldn't mind, could you take somezing like zis, and test it out for me?" He passes the leaf thing over to you. "I can test out ozer ways to preserve memory as well, so maybe we can test ozer zings out later, too, if zis doesn't work."
xxxxWith how demure he's acting, it's hard to tell if his tone just turned flirty or not. It might have done. It might not.
xxxxHe promptly passes over some strange device, made of a weird combination of materials, both two-leg-made and truly natural, and starts a demonstration. "You put it down onto somezing, and point it at somezing you want to remember, and zen you press zis bump here." He seems pleased with the demonstration. "Right, now, no rush, I should zink it might take up to a few moons, but if you could test zat zis works, or bring me ozer ideas if it does not, zat would be wonderful."
xxxxHe quickly returns to his leaf-thing, and you get the sense that that's as much as he'll say until his long wait for a return on his imagination is over.
