Clans: Cold watch Syndicate
Name of the Clan your cat/group is going to: CWS
Which cat/group are you trying out for: their clan names will be the same, just given rouge names. Group 1 ( Blackiron, Leopardgaze, Lotuspearl, Coleuspaw/heart/soul/spirit/voice.)
How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?:
Blackstar had found it hard or almost impossible to adjust back to be a normal single life cat. With the disbandment of his kingdom, the heavily scarred soldier narrowed his gaze towards one he was now supposed to call his boss. He had liked the taste of power, and it still racked hungrily in his stomach. It would have easy enough to rally cats against him, he knew how to lead a clan successfully, and turn this syndicate into a functioning empire, even make it something worth been feared. Just one small stepping stone into another spiral of power and glory.

Approaching Pompeiicall for the position of underboss, minding his manners, and keeping his proposition has sweet has honey, but has well hidden and deadly has poison. Mindless fool.

Leopardgaze was also finding it almost has hard to adjust too, she was older nearly all of the soldiers in this new clan, her eyes narrowing at how much lack of respect most of them had for someone that demanded respect, tail curling over her paws. What she wouldn’t give to teach these arrogant upstarts a lesson. Perhaps she would be the one to shake up the ranks, including her daughter.

Lotuspearl clearly had adjusted almost too well into this, been into the clan within a moon, had already formed a friendship with Espressotuff. The young molly wasn’t all that interested in trying to cause chaos within a clan that just been there for a couple of moons. She was glad that her own father would have the chance to grow old with his mate, instead of outliving his entire family if the time came. All she wanted to do was live, and see that her knucklehead brother was becoming a soldier. She is her mother’s daughter after all, but she knew one thing that her mother has at times forgotten about respect, it is earned, not demanded by enforcing the rules of the codex. By been herself, she may be the better example of what a shambled kingdom was, and hopes to do her mother proud, and be role model to younger kits.

Coleuspaw couldn’t believe that he was going to be a soldier, in a different clan, different traditions, different everything! Shaking his head, and straightening his shoulders, taking a deep breath. He had already started a rivalry with Laurelpaw, the two clearly couldn’t stand one another. Insults and taunting aside, with Kissingpaw watching from afar.
He wondered what his assessment might be in this new clan, would he have to kill a dog? Or spend the night in the most human infested part of the city? Only time will tell.

How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?:

Blacbird, since seeing his former clan crumble and scatter, stuck close to his mate and kits. He didn't have an easy time fitting in with the others in mistyclan, and was labelled an enemy due to the fact that he still had lives left. Featherstar herself took his to the moonpool to see starclan, and though they took away his remaining few lives, leaving him with only one, she was still kind.

Leopardgaze quickly bonded with the other warrior she-cats such as tawnyheart, cypressclaw, theushwhisker and a few others who lived for the thrills. She enjoys life as a warrior and enjoys being able to hunt with her daughter.

Flowerstone had a hard time adjusting too, but she's found her friends among the other younger warriors, and likesspending time with them. She's less of a hunter and fighter, and instead prefers to stay and help around camp. She tries to help her brother, in an effort to get him settled in.

Flowpaw quickly got along with tawnyheart's litter. The siblings were quite friendly and welcoming to him when he first arrived, and even prickly sootpaw accepted him. Not to mention he has a tiny crush on larkpaw.

Name of the Clan your cat/group is going to: The Kin of the Wildflower
Which cat/group are you trying out for: Swallowdusk (Swallowflight)
How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: Bird was always the odd sort. She never liked to hunt or fight, instead learning the plants of the bayou and their medicinal purposes. Although her family initially mocked her for this, they stopped when her skills proved valuable to them. Eventually, Bird set off on her own as a wandering herbalist, treating any sick and wounded she could find and teaching cats about herbs. As she started to get on in moons, however, the nomadic life lost its appeal. She'd done a lot of good for the loners and rogues of the bayou, and hoped they would continue to pass on the knowledge she'd shared. But Bird needed stability in her life, and it was with the Kin of the Wildflower that she found it. After meeting with a passing patrol, she offered her services as a healer in exchange for shelter, and she was accepted into the Clan as a medicine cat.
The healing aspect of being a medicine cat was nothing new to Bird, or Swallowflight as she was now called. But it was the spiritual aspect that was new to her. A shade appeared to her one night - her littermate who died when they were only a few moons old. He said no words, simply gestured to her to follow. He lead her to the lightning-burnt tree, where Swallowflight fell asleep. In her dreams she saw hundreds of shades - a few she recognized, and many of them familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. These, they all explained to her, were the souls of the dead awaiting rebirth. It was to be Swallowflight's duty to be their voice among the living. She accepted, and has enthusiastically taken on this new role. Though the shades are often cryptic, she does her best to interpret their words to share with the living. The cats of the Kin of the Wildflower treat her with great respect, and she loves her role in the Clan.

Which cat/group are you trying out for: celandinewish (candleflicker)
How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?:

Celandinewish always was different. Too easily insulted and held grudges for a while. But when everyone you've ever known splits up all at once, your heart gets broken. Sometimes, it isn't put together quite the same...

As celandinewish began to wander through the woods, lost in thought, she began to rethink her attitude problems. Heck, now she'd give anything to see even her past enemies again! But alas, it was merely wishful thinking. As she walked, she was so distracted she never noticed a thick mist settling in, dripping from her pelt and clinging to her. It masked her paws, and filled her lungs. But as she breathed it in, she fought to slow her rapidly beating heart, and pushed onwards.
The farther she went, the thicker the mist grew. The old her would have found it suffocating and claustrophobic, but now, she had nothing to lose.
As she let go of her grudges and worries, the mist let go of her. Whether it was starclan's will or her own spirit, she never knew, but the fog cleared, until it was merely a shallow carpet, blanketing the forest floor.
After wandering a bit further, she began to detect the scent of cats. Lots of cats. In her time alone, she hadn't realized how much she'd been deprived of company until there were cats a few foxlengths away!

Later on, she became known as candleflicker, a warrior of mistyclan, and though at first she struggled to make friends, she fit in eventually once she learned to mellow out.

if you have to choose, i honestly prefer candleflicker over group 1

How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: upon finding her way through the dense fog, she found herself stumbling right into the hidden camp, startling a few of the cats present in the clearing. at first she expected a hostile greeting or even being attacked outright, however finds herself surprised as she's approached by meera gracing a rather friendly smile. she soon seems to fit into their leisurely life and surprises many of the members by her navigation through the fog.

How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: viperrasp's initial fears of acceptance due to his one blinded eye had caused him to outwardly appear aggressive to the group from the moment he stepped into their camp, however when he thought he was to be met with hostile, he instead was greeted with politeness and understanding. the group gave him the patience he needed and eventually he calmed down upon learning they didn't care much for his injury.

How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: paleclaw had been housing doubts against the shadowed kingdom for many moons, and so the snow bengal was ecstatic when the clan fell apart. during the many sunrises of isolated travel, paleclaw had a lot of time to think. thoughts and ideas began falling into place like pieces of a puzzle, and a helpful word with a loner completed the puzzle. that day, paleclaw finally came to terms with the fact that being a tom was what he wanted. as he traveled, he reached the edge of a forest that seemed to sing with birds. he lurked on the edge of the forest, for every time he tried to cross, birds swarmed him and pecked at his pelt. finally, he met a beautiful grey and white molly who was patrolling the edge of the forest. she waved her patrol ahead of her and paused to talk. the conversation was nice, and paleclaw craved another. they began meeting daily until a bird fluttered down to greet paleclaw as opposed to contopus virens. from the bird floated a melodic voice that explained the customs and traditions of aviaryclan and asked if he was willing to become a sparrow. paleclaw eagerly accepted the cooper's hawk's offer and took the name accipiter cooperii. he was welcomed, but he continued growing closer to contopus virens even after learning she had a mate. the two snuck around together while her mate snuck around behind their backs, and accipiter cooperii was upset when contopus virens became pregnant with the eagle's hummingbirds. still, the two remained as a secret couple. the rest has yet to be revealed, but heartache and decisions lie in the future for accipiter cooperii.

Which cat/group are you trying out for: viperrasp (oxyura jamaicensis)
How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: viperrasp's singular eye was one of blazing orange, yet it carried a coldness that could freeze the insides of a cat if they dared look into it. many whispers had spread through the shadowed kingdom that the shadowed lord and the white lady that his left eye be sealed shut to minimize the power and feeling a cat got from looking into both eyes at one time. when the shadowed kingdom disbanded, viperrasp travelled alone. he didn't want to have to rely on any other cat as he knew he was unliked pretty much throughout the entire clan. he paused for a single day at the edge of a forest as he was prepared to hunt a bird when his prey turned and spoke to him. unaware of what was happening, he simply ate the bird as his evening meal. the birds began to swarm him, screaming and crying until he stopped and was willing to listen. a large hawk, a ruddy duck to be specific, settled neatly in front of him. a very deep, masculine voice flowed from the hawk's open beak which told the story of aviaryclan. the bird then asked viperrasp if he would become the eagle of the clan, the mate of contopus virens. viperrasp did not like assigned mates, it had been a thing he'd avoided the entire time he was a part of the shadowed kingdom, but the power of being the mate of the osprey pulled him to say yes. he imagined it to be an easy rank, one in which he could spend his days commanding his subjects around, but he was sorely mistaken. he arrived, claiming to be oxyura jamaicensis, and contopus virens accepted him after seeing the large feather dangling around his neck. the days passed, and he began to regret saying yes. the ruddy duck had tricked him by complimenting his coldness to others and his cunningness. it didn't hurt that he was exceptionally handsome, but he had overlooked the final statement. his pride had been played with, and he didn't like it. he and contopus virens begrudgingly acted like mates, but oxyura jamaicensis began sneaking off in the night and exploring for a real cat he could love. what he didn't know was that while he was searching for a cat he could love and not be forced to pretend with, contopus virens was becoming closer and closer with a sparrow. this drove an unfixable rift between the two, which they tried to fix with a litter of hummingbirds, but nothing could save them. they continued to portray themselves as mates, but they no longer spoke to each other of their own will or want.

note ;; i prefer paleclaw over viperrasp if it comes down to it.

How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: when the shadowed kingdom disbanded, vulturecrest was unsure what to do next. he had been a loner before, sure, but he had grown dependent on others for company. he hated being alone. luckily for him, as he was making his way through an open field one day, he got his wish of a companion. a sooty tom, about the same age as him, asked him if he was looking for a home. that was when their plotting began. the tom told vulturecrest stories about a cat who abandoned his father to live with a band of wild cats. said father had sent the sooty cat to get revenge. vulturecrest had experience with living in a clan, said the sooty cat, and thus had a inside knowledge. he had a job to do. the sooty cat would send vulturecrest to the group called bearclan, to do recon work of sorts. he would report back with his findings and together, they would make the clan pay...

Which cat/group are you trying out for: ibisstrut (cranefeather)
How will this cat/group fit into your Clan?: Cranefeather was welcomed by lotusclan warmly. When she had first stumbled across the lush lotusclan territory, her body had been willing her to succumb to her weakness. Her once-muscular body had been reduced to a gaunt skeleton after countless weeks on her own, and her body had been living off a poor selection of rotting human trash and stagnant pools of water. The weeks of depressing loneliness had let the black-white molly reflect on her past, and her place in her former clan. It had left her humbled, in reflection, as it let her finally realize that perhaps the disbanding of her old clan was a good thing. She had friends in the Kingdom, though actions of kindness were few and far between. Lotusclan, however, seemed to welcome her lovingly, with a cushy den to lie in and food to warm her empty belly. It was charming, to say the least, and she had to admit- sitting under the stars with someone by her side was something she had missed dearly.

Postby Grey_Hoodie » Wed Apr 29, 2020 12:08 pm

    Username: Grey_Hoodie
    Clan intended for: Whitebark
    Name Ram will take: Rammask
Why did Ram leave his home to join your clan?
The sun still slept, but a burning glow was beginning to seep into the land from the horizon line, painting the sky with bruised purples and fiery reds. Pale gale streams streaked across the frozen prairie, visible only by the clusters of crystalline flakes picked up and carried away from the snowbanks. Fading whispers danced in the wind, hushed words carefully concealed within the rush of air. Fluctuating gossip and playful rumors were left to die in the silence as the queens of the nursery turned their heads to greet the colony’s matriarch along her morning rounds.

Visits to the nursery were more frequent nowadays, if only to make sure the next generation was growing strong. During these times, they needed to be. A foul stench hung in the air, burning its way into the lungs of any cat unfortunate enough to not seek shelter, and the scent of death lurked through the camp, acting as a reminder to their fate. The vile plague wreaking havoc on her colony had been left nameless, for fear that it could reappear in the future if they had something to call it by. It had felt so sudden, appearing out of nowhere in the middle of the night and claiming half her patrollers before the sun had risen the next morning.

There had been no signs, no hint of a warning, and when the matriarch asked her ancestors for answers, begged for their aid, her cries had gone ignored. There was nothing natural about this plague, and nothing in the actions of her colony that spoke to a believable outbreak. This was a punishment, a wound on her colony that would continue to fester until every last one of them had fallen. The matriarch could only guess at what had spurned her ancestors’ wrath, and she feared little could be done now to right her colony’s wrongs. There were too many laws to go through and so many where the rules had gone lax over the generations. Perhaps that as a whole was the problem. The matriarch couldn’t tell – she could only act on what she knew now.

Though they’d concealed it well, the matriarch, Roamer, was not entirely deaf. A queen’s gossip more often than not fell short of fact, but this time… this time, the matriarch could not be so certain that her queens were merely fooling around. After a brief nod to the mollies cooped up and bundled beneath a small army of kits in one corner of the nursery, Roamer made her way over to the other side of the den. It was odd to see one of the mothers isolated from the others, but the colony had been built up by strong beliefs, and superstitions playing out among them were not unusual. Even she had her own suspicions – she was only here to confirm them – but their actions only seemed to play into her own theories. Dread and unease settled deep within the molly’s belly, but she tried her best to ignore it as she glanced over the separate queen’s kits.

While the rest of Snow Glade’s little ones remained pearly balls of fluff, the odd one out, with its tangled fur and stubby legs, looked like it had been dropped in one of the polluted puddles outside the colony’s territory. Its limbs were dark, sharply contrasting against its cloudy flank and shoulders, and a smoky grey curled up from the kit’s nose and around the oily patches along its face and neck. It bore no resemble to its parents or siblings, and a hot ball of shame and disgust burned its way deep inside the molly. Roamer knew who it belonged to and she grimaced at the thought, at the betrayal – no wonder they’d been abandoned.

The molly must have made some sort of noise, because the kit turned to look up at her with something akin to curiosity in its eyes. A pair of flat, black disks glanced up at her, and a chill ran up and down the molly’s spine, cohesive thoughts fleeing at the sight of those eyes. Entirely unworldly and so vehemently wrong, the matriarch had to look away before her agitated disgust overwhelmed her. Roamer couldn't help but feel in her heart that that thing was to become the harbinger of disaster and decay for her colony. Those eyes – it could only mean that they had come down to unleash disaster themselves. The molly turned violently, spitting out curses as her tail lashed furiously, and she settled on a brisk pace toward the nursery’s exit.

Her heart pounded with the adrenaline, sinking deeper and deeper into the pit of her stomach with each beat. Even as her anger continued to consume her, a bubble of despair was making itself known as the realization sank in – she could save no one. The queens curled tighter around their kits, the stench of fear and horror amplified and reverberating within the small space. Before Roamer could step outside the nursery, she was stopped abruptly in her path by the colony’s lone medic, her resemblance to that thing disgustingly uncanny.

They spoke at the same time, words carrying the same sorrowful, bitter tone.

      Why have you cursed us?

      I can explain.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunlight glinted through breaks in the branches and the pine needles of the mountain’s forests, cascading across the rocky floor in a glowing mosaic. From the little hollow he’d taken shelter in for the night, Ram dazedly perched his chin atop a nearby root to watch as the light danced with the wind-tossed leaves. The tom puffed out a sigh, seeking to lose himself in the shapeless patterns until his heart finally calmed down. A nightmare had dug its claws deep into him hours earlier, but the last dredges of it were finally wearing off as the morning arrived and the air warmed up.

The tom kept very few memories close at heart – whether by want or otherwise, the tom could no longer say. The majority of them had long since been buried beneath the sands of time. Those that remained were few and far between, and were always patchy whenever he tried to recall them. That is, unless they decided to torture him and present themselves in their entirety during his dreams. Last night’s comfortable sleep had been lost to such a dream: having wished to remember the last words of his mother and instead being reminded of how his fate had changed in an instance.

Sometimes the chill of that fateful winter morning still crept in beneath the tom’s fur, rattling his bones and teasing at all the moons he’d lost to his colony’s twisted beliefs. Ram had never been allowed to be himself, because he was his colony’s ancestors first. He was not allowed to speak, because no one but the medic would ever act like they understood him. He went nameless, bar the insults growled at him from the sick on their deathbeds, and his age went ignored, because his life would only last as long as it was needed. He could not learn or love or live, because his lone duty was to act as the vessel to his ancestors. He could never offer his comfort, because every touch was rejected and touted as being something that caused death sooner. It was expected of him to be present as, one by one, his family succumbed to the illnesses around him, no matter the effects that had on him.

It should have been harder to forget, and yet, his mind easily abandoned all the stepping stones crossed to build up the cat he was today. Pulling away from his thoughts, the tom dragged in a slow, deep breath, shuddering as fresh air flooded into his body and invigorated his senses. Before he could think further on it, the memories folded beneath the bright light of day and fell away into obscurity. Stretching his paws out in front of him and sinking his claws into the dirt, Ram dragged himself out of his burrow. Shaking his pelt free of leaves and mud clumps, the tom bounded away from the clearing with a sharp burst of energy.

Up ahead, he could see a familiar strip of white-barked trees lining the mountain’s ridge. Home had always been the little dens Ram found along the way. After having vanished into the night shortly after his twelfth moon – before his duties could completely destroy him – it had been up to him to figure out his new way in life. It wasn’t easy, with so much dragging him down and blocking his abilities to adapt. His mind had long since been corrupted into thinking it was no longer his, and, ultimately, the easiest way to restart his life had been to forget everything that had happened before.

Now, home was situated in the hearts of his new clanmates and the open smiles he was always gifted upon his return from a journey. Even though he was strikingly odd, something he was now proud to acknowledge after struggling so much with it, he was somehow still a perfect fit among the cats of Whitebark. Where he’d always been silenced and suppressed in the colony, here he would always be encouraged and supported. There were others that could not speak here, but they still found ways to deliver their words and freely share their stories with him. There were those that would not touch, but still willingly curled into the warmth of another if they sat close enough.

There were even those that were nameless – still on the same path as Ram in rediscovering themselves and coming to terms with their identity, without anyone else’s forced input. Ram had found a piece of himself in the first part of his name, something decided on a whim when he’d first arrived and over time, grew attached to. There were still pieces of him missing, still parts that were crooked and broken, but there wasn’t a hurry for him to fill out a specific role in life, and his clanmates made sure to remind him of that whenever he forgot who he wanted to be.

As the sun blazed high overhead, with a warm glow filtering in through the leaves and a pale sky dotted with downy clouds, Ram dashed onward on steady paws. Visits to his home were more frequent nowadays, if only to reaffirm his growth with himself. A warm breeze flowed between the tree trunks, carrying on it the warm, welcoming scents of summer, and the lively chatter of the clan’s guards. With each gust, the words seemed to fade away, but as Ram crept over the last rocky outcropping, the voices were bolstered with enthusiasm and excited greetings swarmed the tom as he made his way forward.

They spoke at the same time in the same gleeful, open tones with grins breaking out onto their maws as they approached one another.

      "Welcome home!"
