Sometimes, I just draw for the sake of drawing. Sometimes the art will run away with me and I have no idea what will happen until it tells me it's done. This was one of those times. It started out as simple anatomy practice, I was going to post it in sketches, but then the shading and blues came out in all their glory, and I kept going. I kept adding more and more to the headshot, eventually adding a body and legs and tail. Then came random experiments with the layer types and the smear brush, doing all sorts of crazy things. I had to go back several times because it didn't turn out right. I'm not sure how "right" this final product is, but whatever drove me to keep adding stuff suddenly left. Really, the only thing I'm proud of the head, but I guess the rest turned out all right. Clearly, I still need some anatomy practice.
I was so caught up in what the picture was becoming, I completely missed the pound by an hour. I knew it was opening too, but I plumb forgot because I was so focused.
Feel free to give comments and constructive crit.
