Noses - Creativity Catalog

How to use it
Got an adoptable idea, but you're not sure it stands out? Try changing out one of it's features for one of these!
Don't use the red ones... just don't.
Pick the trait you like, then look up the creature it came from, look at references, and go from there!
Change up the tail by adding/subtracting fur, fluff, scales, or spines to make it even more unique.
Don't reference from the catalog please, look up real pictures of your animal.

Choosing the right trait
The most important question: "WHY?" did you choose that specific trait?
In your species, you need to consider the area they live in, what they do best, what they eat etc. A desert creature may have short fur and big ears to ventilate the heat. An underwater species would have slit nostrils or a blowhole. Tree-climbers will probably have long prehensile tails. There's a reason behind everything! Use your imagination to match it up.

Never reference or copy a trait just because a popular adopt has it. Find your own way!

just so it's known, the 'holes' on the python snout are actually heat pits! the actual nostrils are above those, on the top side of the snout.

Oh yeah! I knew about the heat pits, but I had thought the nostrils were also two of those inner holes. They have other, actual nostrils? Fascinating!

Not lame lol
Just overused because people tend to copy from the popular adopts instead of from life. I'm getting super tired of seeing that exact nose and tail on everything, because chances are the creator of the species saw it on another species first, and wanted to monopolize on the popularity. The same thing happened to jewels embedded in furry flesh, feathers/objects on strings, and couple other features that became popular (and thus copied and overused) when one species using it made it big.
