chinchilla. they are adorble squirl-like animals only fatter, and they dont shead they sleek, wich only happens when there scared, or very hott. they are endangered bacuse people use thir fur to make coats and other cloths. there fur is very soft. in america you can have pet chinchilas, i have one named percy. he is energetic and jummpy, he loves to runand he chew on everything. if you want to know more about chinchillas google or ask me over pm and i can try and awnser your question X3

another fact, you cant hold them just by the body, when you hold them you need to hold thier tail and suport thier belly. this is becuaes they sleek and the tail doesnt. you can get your chinchilla trusting you then you can let it run on your sholders.

never get a chinchilla wet to ccleaan. to clean a chinchilla you need volcano dust and a dustbath house, chinchillas take dust baths, and dont use dust from around your house. the dust clocts onto the dirt on the fur then falls off with the dirt conected X3

heres another fact, did you knowthat the US started with 11 origonal chinchillas? if you (very few)have a chinchilla, it may be related to thoes elevin origonal chinchillas!
(i think i might post randome facts onhere every once and a while X3 )

edit: breeding chinchillas is DANGEROUS leave it to the professionals (dont ask me why, all the research tells me that) they will fight to there deaths so be carfull, and getting two chinchillas together (better if same gender) you want to get them used to eachother first (ex: put verry littel of your colone or perfume on each chinchilla and as it wears off they grow to eachother more (dont ask me why dont know why))then you can

chinchillas supplies, never belive what the bag says, just becuase it says for chinchilla dosnt mean it is safe for them. foodis a good one. somme foods say there for chinchillas, but can make them very sick, and there is foods that say nothing about chinchillas and is good for them. supplies are better when there not plastic, chinchillas chew a LOT so keep plastic out of there cage for that reason and they can choke on plastic. chinchillas are energetic, so they need to run a lot, soeither let them run around a small room (like a bathroom) and cover up anything that your chinchilla can get hurt on. keep an eye on them. ifyou want your chinchilla to run around more than a small room get a chinchilla ball (rabit ball, not hamster, there to bigg for hamster balls) and let them ruun around your house. (warning if you have a basmet keep the stars blocked i was close to losing my chinchilla for forgetting this. he was rolling around and flew into the basmet, we thought it was one of my sisters torys that might have fallen, but fie muniets later, my parents saw him riunning around in the basment living room just fine so i got REALLY lucky there)

Did you know that the reason they don't like water is because if they get wet, there fur holds so much moisture that it can actually mold and make them very sick, or they might even die. Also another reason why you can't hold them by the body is that their ribs are thinner than toothpicks so that they can actually collapse their rib cage to fit through tight spaces. If you hold a chinchilla the wrong way, or too hard, you can break their ribs and even puncture a lung.

Nope! I just think they are very interesting animals. C: I went to a zoo show and they talked about all sorts of stuff! It was very cool, so I came home and looked up a ton of stuff about them. I think I might get one. ^_^

they are fun pets, and they dont stink like a hamster or guini pig, so if you forgeet to clean the cage, it wont smell, just remeber you do have to clean it. my chinchillas barks are adorible, and they do bark when you first get them, and as they ajust to there new homes, they will bark less and less
