If we credited back to you, would we be able to use the ref sheet to roleplay somewhere not on chicken smoothie, like DA or Instagram? I understand if not, however it's always best to ask. I plan on going back into the rp community, however I am not on CS enough to maintain a running one on here.
Also; would we be able to use it to get art of a character if it's a no one above question? (I er, can't draw cats all too well currently. That's why I am asking) Once again, crediting you for the lines and not erasing the signatures.
For the first part of your question. I know you said "and not erasing the signature", but I'm re-iterating this not only to you, but anyone thinking to use my lines to create characters for another role-play site.
Ok here's my long, over-wordy reply to your inquiry, sorry for the delay, I don't check my posts often, lol.
If you color your character in on CS, or have someone color it for you here free, and leave the signature clearly visible, you may use the image /character created to roleplay on other sites such as, but not limited to furry paws or felicity. The signature must be very clearly visible and, were feasible, link back to CS directly to this post. If they do not allow clickable links in posts on the site you are running, then at the very least, type in something like "This line art can be found on chickensmoothie.com under the name of Equid Phantasm and may not be used without express written permission." That way you're showing me as the artist and protecting my art from theft.
I did not design the lines for people to profit from. The only way someone might profit from these lines is if someone on CS made a CS art or character design contest from them (Which is allowed) and the host of the contest offered prizes for the winning entry. The winner of the contest would profit from them as a result of being the winner of the art competition.
Another point... no one can make an art shop from my lines. Similarly I definitely would NOT like someone to see a cat character contest presented on another website, and then come back here to create an entry for the contest. To me, that would then be profiting from my lineart should they win said contest.
OK. Here's an example that can be copied and pasted and the XX replaced with the appropriate words/names.
For on this post topic, you'll post something like this as part of your content: "I will be using this cat character on "x website.com" under the screen name of "xx" in my roleplay "xx". Then on the website iteself... "I obtained this lineart on chickensmoothie.com here: (Insert link to the CS page your cat is actually on, not the link to this forum post) Using these quotes or similar quotes you create, as long as they are similar, allows me to follow the lineart to monitor other sites for art theft.
For the second part. Hmm. How to word this. If YOU create the character here, using my line art, but your design (Not the accessories or jewelry, those are unique), it is your design. The design itself I can not own or copyright because you designed it. Thus, you could have say "John Q Public" on Deviant draw up another set of lines or use a free deviant lineart and color that set of lines in with your "design" only. That is because I have no ownership over the designs created by other users, I only have ownership of the lines and accessories and all the layers I've created for this free lineart. Of course credit where credit is due. I think everyone who uses my lines on another site should refer back to Chickensmoothie.com and if you don't know how to make a link, I'd be happy to create one for you.
On one last note: PM me opinions, don't post here... does anyone think I should add a layer of a kitten? I think a mama cat with a kitten in her mouth would fit this lineart well.
